A deep, throaty growl rumbled from within the depths of his body. Large brown eyes were narrowed cynically as the dog scoured the alley. He hadn't eaten in days, and he was beginning to see the soft outline of his ribcage through his dusty grey fur. In truth, the dog looked more like a wolf than a domestic animal, bred to be a human companion. But then again, he could never be civil to those monsters. Two-legs were his mortal enemy, he hated them with every fiber of his being.
His bloodshot eyes closed for but a moment, trying to savor every ounce of energy the male had left within his large body. He lifted his eyelids and hoisted his body up, skulking slowly over to a garbage can farther into the alley. As he skillfully knocked it over, a small tabby cat yowled and jumped out of the open vessel, scampering away nimbly. Darthyn chuckled to himself. Cats. Rolling his eyes, he began to dig through the mounds of filthy debris, finally coming across something worth nibbling on. To Darth, it seemed, this was salami, only a few days past its expiration date, but to a wilde animal, such nonsense was trivial. A bit of mold wasn't going to keep him from feeding himself. It's a dog eat dog world, he thought. Or rather, a dog eat salami world.

Akira walked around boredly. she had eaten, watered, used the bathroom, scratched herself free of ticks, took a nap, chased a two-leg pup, and sabatoged an art show on mainstreet. Ahe really had nothing else to do! Or so she thought. Akira stumbled upon Darthyn eating. He really was very handsome. She couldn't resist liking him.
"Good afternoon, Darthyn." she said, bowing so low her maw touched her fron paw. I hope he likes me! Ok Akira what are you thinking! There are plenty of other faes out there way prettier than you. "Nice out today isn't it?" she said, trying to start a conversation.

Ali trotted out from behind a trashcan. She kicked it over with her back leg, and pawed out half a cheeseburger. As she ate it in a few quick bites she looked at the two of them, puzzled as to what they were thinking. Akira seemed a tad uneasy. She'd never met these two before, as she'd just blown into town. "Who're you two?" She asked curiously, itching her ear.
"I'm Ali."

Darthyn's head flew up and his top lip was lifted to reveal a row of shining razor-like canines. He snarled, but when he whipped his large head around to see that it was Akira, his face returned to its normal rugged, handsome expression.
"Akira." He nodded in respect to the female, but subtly enough to establish his dominance. "You shouldn't sneak up on dogs like that." His words were harsh, but his mouth had curled into a playful smirk, showing her that he didn't mind in the least if she snuck up on him. He padded over to her, but started as he heard the metallic clang of a trashcan hitting the cement. He spun around, shackles raised. A snarl tore free from his vocals.
But as the wolf-like dog spoke, he relaxed his muscles. He scented the air. She seemed friendly enough, yet some dogs were deceivers. He nodded to her. "Well met. I'm Darthyn. I run these streets."

Akira smiled. He joked with me! He actually did! I'm not invisible! Akira noted for the billionth time his handsomeness. Beautiful pelt, amazing eyes, handsome exspression, He was perfect. Absolutly perfect. Akira just wanted to run up and snuggle into his soft pelt and tell him how much she loved him. But she would just be shuned.
"Sure thing, Darthyn." She said the Darthyn part slower, so she could savor how it felt on her tounge. "So, hows everything with the pack?" She asked. Akira nodded to Ali. She then sat down by Darthyn.

Darthyn thought about her question. "It's growing every day. I haven't met many of the strays, but I can tell by the look in their eyes that they recognize me as their leader."
He shrugged, but his chest was held out proudly, indicating his dominance. His wolf-like ears twitched, anticipating Ali to speak. Who the hell was she?

Thats nice... She wanted to ask him, but should she? "Thats nice, ha... Have you met anyone special yet?" Akira desperatley wanted to know. She looked up at the almost cloudless sky. The day was nearly perfect. Fresh garbage scents, no humidity, no rain.
"Nice to meet you Ali, I'm Akira." she said to the other fae.

Darth shrugged. Special. What was special anymore? Nothing, he snorted to himself. He looked back at Ali and willed her to speak, wondering why she was so silent now after introducing herself so readily.
"No." He plainly stated before he looked back to Akira, who had adressed the matter. As he looked at her, he sensed a hint of hopefulness in her eyes, but chose to cast it aside for now. He didn't need a mate just yet.

Is that a good thing. "Hmm." she said, not really knowing if what he said was good or bad. Akira yawned, eyes closing, mouth opening wide, tounge curling. After she yawned she left her front paw to scratch behind her ear. A tick that she had missed earlier that day fell. No more itching, at least for that day.
"You know the other day a twoleg tried to grab me, I bit his hand and ran, the pound was on my tail the whole time." Akira said, trying to start a conversation. Of coarse the story was exagerated. Akira wondered what the other dogs would say.

Darthyn's eyes widened. He nodded. He had to say, he was quite impressed. Pretty and tough, she had the whole package. He sat back on his haunches, staring her straight in her dark eyes.
"Wow, Akira. Sounds thrilling." The way he said this, it sounded sincere. And it was. He had attacked a human once and had to evade the pound for weeks! He repeated this to her, sharing his own story. "And that's why I was missing for so long last year." He knew she remembered, because she'd asked him where he'd been once he returned, but he just made an excuse. He didn't even remember why.

Akira nodded. She remembered the time when he went missing. That had been terrible for the entire pack. Akira looked into his eyes, trying to read his emotions. He was definetly showing a little liking for her, maybe more, but she couldn't tell. Akira made one of her beautiful smiles appear across her face. The smile could have dazzled anyone.
"I Remember. Thats was a terrible time." she said with a grim look on her face. The grim look disapeared immedietly though, and Akira smiled for him again.[/center

Darthyn left his gaze fall to the floor. "I had to do it, or else the strays would not longer have their leader." He looked up to her, greeted by her dazzling grin. He smiled back, his was weak in comparison. No one smiled like Akira.
"I heard that in the pound, they kill dogs who aren't fit to be adopted by two-legs." His eyes widened dramatically, as if he was telling a scary story by campfire. But this, this was true. "Aweful creatures they are, humans."

Akira shudded. What if the poundman had caught me? They would certainly kill me! Akira shook the thought from her mind. She was free, nothing would end that.
"They could never catch you, Darthyn, your to cunning." she said, being completely honest. "I had luck on my side. They could have easily caught me. I jsut ran fast enough." OOC: Block D=

The large wolf-like dog shook his head, his eyes closed. But once he opened them, they fixed on her. "No way in hell." Was all he said. He knew how fast and intelligent Akira was. Much more so than a human. When it came to survival tactics, the strays had it down, second only to the great wild wolf.
He smirked handsomly and lay down on his belly, the floor, soggy from the previous night's rain, wet the long fur that grey on his darkened underside. He craned his neck, lifting his head to the sky, and yawned deeply. "Luck had nothing to do with it, Akira."
