It was a wonderful day.
The sun shone down gently on Frenchie's pristine coat as she stepped through her doggie door and trotted down the walk. The front gate was open, as usual, and Fren felt she fancied a walk down the sidewalk. The tags on her collar jingled as she went, her tail flicking back and forth.
It was an ordinary day on Hawthorne Road. This was a quiet place except the sound of timed sprinklers watering already green lawns, people washing their already clean cars. Frenchie gave a great sigh of contentment as she surveyed her surroundings with dark brown eyes. What a peaceful place. What a wonderful place to live.

Cupid was uberly very bored. So bored, in fact, he decided to slip under the picket fence in the front yard and journey out for a walk. His coat was in-tact, and his black nose wet. Everything in place for a good day of flirting and babe-catching.
He stopped short. Hottie at 12 O'clock! he thought. Here comes the love-doctor. He gorgious, whats a babe like you doing out here all by themselves in a dangerous neighborhood like this? You better let me walk with you for pretection." [/size]

Frenchie blinked and turned, looking around. At first she saw nothing, but then she looked down at the ground and spotted a Chihuahua. Raising both brows in suprise, she lowered her head slightly to peer down at the dog. She was over twice his size.
"Why, this isn't a dangerous neighborhood." she said. "Surely you know that.. if you live here." She then gave a quick, tinkling laugh. "Protection?" she said, then decided she would humor the little dog. "Very well. Walk with me for protection." She then set off again, her tail held high.

Meadow sat peacefully on her human's pristinely manicured lawn, her powerful jaws wrapped around a suculant rawhide chew. She savoured the taste, closing her eyes in contentment. What a spectacular day. Overhearing the idle banter of her neighbors, she looked up, seeing her good friend Frenchie being wiled and beguiled by a tiny teacup Chihuahua. She giggled slightly, reluctantly getting up and leaving her chewy as she walked toward the white picket fence that held her in. Or rather, kept others out. That's what she liked to think anyways.
"Good morning, Fren, out for a little stroll, I see?" She smiled to her neighbor and then looked down at the pup-like dog near Frenchie's ankles. "And hello to you. I don't believe we've met." She noted the heart-shaped marking on his back, and rolled her eyes good-naturedly. Oh, so that's where he gets it.

Frenchie halted and looked up at her tall friend, Meadow, noting the fact that they were seperated by a fence. "Hello." she replied with a polite smile, glancing down at her companion, then back at the Saluki. "And this is.. Oh, my I haven't even learned your name yet." she said with a puzzled expression, then lowered her sleek head slightly.
"What should we call you, then?" she asked the Chihuahua, flicking her tail back and forth.
