Name:Calypso
Nickname: Cal
Gender: Male, in-tact
Age: 6 years
Breed: Belgian Sheepdog -Belgian Tervuren-
*Stray or Domestic:* Domestically owned
Personality:Calypso is a very calm dog. His older than most, but he isn't a senior yet. For an Ex-Show dog, he doesn't carry that formal heir of excellence that the others do. He likes the calm quietness of the fire crackling at night, Mistress's hands running down his pelt as he sleeps. He prefers human company to dogs, but he isn't distrustful of dogs. He was a stud dog, but after his last litter he retired from the ring to live as Mistress's pet. He likes the soft drizzle of rain and the warmth of his home. His veteran status is old. Going on 7, Cal is older than the average dog. Now he Mistress lets him leave them home.
History: Calypso was borne to Ch. MACh. Marcelline's Sparked Special, or Spark as his mother was called. His father was a privately owned stud dog, so he only knew his name, Fen. Calypso's tarnished gray coat with the black mask made him a prime candidate for the show ring. As a puppy he did his training and learned very fast, and soon he was in his first show. He won Best of Puppy and Best of Dog. Once his first year of life, he added a CDX and a Ch. to his name. He conquered Best of Breed at the Harlow National Dog Championships. He was a stunner. When he turned two, Marcelline, or Marcy his Mistress, studded him out. He was a regular in demand.
But Marcy had purchased a female Tevuren. She was 2 also. She was quite shy and she was beautiful to Cal. He loved her immediately with an intense passion. She loved him too. Her name was Crystalline. She was gorgeous.....
They created many litters together, winners and stars. Five of his sons become police dogs, and many of his daughters were show quality.
But cancer took his beautiful mate, Crystalline developed it in her bone. She died a few months during treatment.
Calypso sprouted gray hairs around his muzzle after that.
Now retired, Cal is a humble pet.
Other: Nothing in particular.
