Name: Luke
Gender: Male, in-tact
Age: 2 months
Breed: Blue Tick Coonhound
*Stray or Domestic:* Stray
Personality: Luke absolutely can not sit still. There is just way too much energy built up in the male’s body that it makes it almost impossibly for him to sit still, ever. This leads to him constantly moving, whether it is his tail swaying or him walking around in circles. It makes him seem a little off his rocker, but he just can’t help it. The fact that he’s constantly bouncing around makes him annoying at times, but he’s still a pup so he can’t do anything about that.
The dog is a complete and utter sweetheart, though he has his faults like everyone else. Because of his past, his heart is sort of broken, and he doesn’t find it easy to want to do anything anymore. Luke doesn’t like to see others get hurt, so it’s not uncommon for him to jump in the middle of an argument to attempt to stop it before it gets out of hand. He speaks in a calm voice. His anger is something he has a good hold on, and it’s a rare thing for him to loose his temper. If he does, its over something really serious. Luke is a very fast learner, and tends to learn from his mistakes and doesn’t repeat them.
Luke won’t hesitate to jump into a fight to defend himself, though he can’t really defend himself from dogs bigger than him. At least not yet he can’t. He is full of pride, but he doesn’t go around boasting. Unlike most strays, he is quite the modest dog.
History: Luke was born to a Blue Tick Coonhound breeder. Before his eyes were even open, his fate was sealed. A man promised first dibs on the litter picked Luke out, and as soon as he was old enough, given to the man. The man was a hunter, and already had two other coonhounds, one a Tree Walker named Lacey and the other was a Black and Tan named Julian. Lacey was two years old, and the Julian was a month older than Luke himself.
Luke barely had any time to really enjoy his puppy hood, or at least enjoy it like most pups would. Being thrown into the art of hunting, he was taken on his first hunt a few weeks after arriving at his new home. Of course, he didn’t help out with the hunt, he just watched and learned. Luke followed in the footsteps of the other two coonhounds, learning the tricks of the trade from them. Two weeks after the first adventure into the wilderness, Luke helped track down a raccoon, successfully treeing the creature.
On the way back home that night, an unexpected visitor arrived at the campsite. A hungry bear wandered on into the camp, smelling the blood from the dead coons from the day along with the food that Luke’s owner had brought along on the hunt. It turned into a disaster when Lacy got in the way, trying to protect their owner from any harm. The foolish human attempted to shoot the bear, ending up shooting his dog instead. The loud noise only irritated the bear even more and provoked it into charging the human. Julian of course, tried to stop the bear, her love for the human ending up being her own downfall as well. Unlike the two other coonhounds, Luke understood the danger. As soon as the bear charged his human, he took off running the other way. There was no way he could save his human even if he tried, and his bond wasn’t nearly as close as the humans was with Julian and Lacey. Call him a coward or selfish, but Luke was far from stupid enough to throw away his life after watching two friends die pointlessly. So where did the little coonhound run to? Well, where his instincts told him to go. Home.
Other: BLARG I win! I finally have a stray dog! Andd..I read too many books with dogs in them.
