Kitty yawned, woken up by the bright sunlight filtering through the walls of the nursery. She looked around, only to be reminded that she was alone here. Even though she wasn't the most social of dogs, she didn't want to be here all alone. If there was an attack on the nursery, she'd be all alone to defend it.
She got up, stretching as well as she could without putting strain on her constantly growing belly. She gave herself a good lick, trying to get her pelt as clean as she could. When she was finally satisfied, the Bulldog walked toward the entrance, sticking her head out. The weather seemed fine enough, so really there was no reason not to go outside. That was, except Thorn. She winced slightly as the memory of her stupidity that had led to her painful embarrassment. And that other Fae was there to see it all.
Finally, after convincing herself that she shouldn't stay inside and feel sorry for herself, she stepped outside, and promptly found a patch of sunlight in which to bask in. She sat down, but found that rather uncomfortable, so she decided to lay. When she found that unsatisfactory as well, she lay on her side. It was much more comfortable, but she felt as though she looked idiotic and very exposed.
She looked around, noting everything. Perhaps today she'd meet a pack member worth keeping acquaintance with.
Unfortunately, she couldn't keep her mind off what had happened last night. If Thorn mentioned it, she'd tell to not feel bad about it, and that she had no idea what was running through her mind, and that she understoofd that the agreement between them had nothing to do with love. Only what was best in the pack. These things were good considering all were true. She wasn't mad at him. It wasn't his fault she was implusive, or that she hadn't really understood.
During this thought process, it got Kit to thinking about the pups. She knew she wouldn't be due for awhile, but all the same, she was worrying about if she would make a good mother or not. She had no experiancr with pups, and has never liked the little things much. She supposed she said yes because it'd help the clan. Not that Thorn's charm didn't help.
'Thorn.' She sighed. Why was she thinking about him? She didn't love him and he didn't love her. Perhaps it was... She honestly didn't know what it was but it was beginning to annoy her. Should she go and look for him? 'No' she scolded herself. 'That's a horrible idea! Get ahold of yourself!' she mental nipped herself. She sighed, hoping that everything would be fine

Thorn ;; Stud Muffin
The lithe, wolf-like figure lingered outside the den for a moment, jaws clamped down upon a dead rabbit. His ears twitched slightly as he inhaled the scents of the Nursery. Kitty's scent was there, mingled with the fresh-kill in his mouth and the scents of various plants that grew around the den. The scent of the female was fresh. Reluctantly, Thorn stepped into the Nursery, his eyes taking a moment to adjust to the darkness of the place. In the corner, he could make out the shape of the dog, her round belly getting larger by the day. He remembered the night before, when she had asked him if he loved her. Shrugging off the thought, he dropped the rabbit's carcass by her feet, then lay down a ways away from the pregnant canine, watching her intently through russet eyes.
"I brought you some breakfast." He spoke at last, his voice cracking, having not been used at all since he awoke that morning. He tried to force a smile onto his ruggedly handsome features, hoping to lighten her spirits some.

Kit's ears pricked, as she heard Thorn enter. She didn't look at him, only nodded a thanks. "Thank You, but you have it. I'm not hungry." She said quietly. If truth be told, she was hungry, but feeling rather sick. Was it because she was sick, which she hoped it was not, or nervous, or was there something else?
Suddenly, she got up, quickly pushing past Thorn. She had to get out of there. The tension was thick in the air. It was obvious that he had not forgotten last night. She knew she really should go and talk to him, but she didn't want to go through the embarrasment again. She sighed, sitting down under the shade of a tall plant.

Thorn sighed as the female rejected his offering. As she left the den, he pelted after her, only to find her sitting in the shade a ways away. He slowed his pace as he neared her, seating himself a few fox-lengths away.
"Do you want to talk about last night?" he questioned, russet brown eyes searching her features for anything other than sadness. "Come back into the Nursery and we can talk, but you should eat, even if you're not hungry. Remember, you're not only eating for one anymore." He smiled warily, and nudged her toward the den where they could talk in private.

She nodded, getting up with a grunt. Her belly was hurting much more than usual, but being too preoccupied, she didn't think much of it. She followed the brute, fully aware of the silence between them. She knew she needed to clear this up, so she forced herself to break it. "About last night, that was my fault. I wasn't thinking, not really anyways. I was just curious. Don't feel like you have to love me. I mean...I don't love you, and I barely know you." She said, just barely above a whisper.
Perhaps he would blow it off and things could go back to the way they were. When they were friends, well, more like acquaintances, really... She looked at the wolf-dog, wondering what was going through his mind. “You’re not mad, right? I know I embarrassed you in front of that other fae.” She said, regret and embarrassment clear in her voice.
She padded slowly on, trying to keep pace with the other dog. But it was quite hard, him being much faster and leaner than her at the current moment. When they finally reached the nursery, she squeezed through. She sighed as she looked at the empty nursery. It was always this way, and sometimes it could be quite depressing.
She padded over to her spot in the corner, stretching out on her side. She didn’t particularly like the fact that it made her feel very attackable, but it was the most comfortable. She heaved a sigh, and looked back up at Thorn. Suddenly, a great pain coursed through her, and she winced. Now the pain was very much apparent to her. It wasn’t her whole body that hurt, mainly just her stomach and all below.
As another flash of pain coursed through her body, she let out another wince, which quickly turned into a yelp. The pups couldn’t be coming, could they? What was she supposed to do? She’d never witnessed a birth, nor been told what to do. She began to panic, and then remembered Thorn. “Th-thorn?” She shakily called out.
{Occ: I'm being immature. Plus, I am quite horrible at birth scenes, only having done them on a role playing site with cats}

T H O R N The lithe wolfdog nodded, his gaze fixed upon the Nursery as the two dogs padded side-by-side. He had to admit, he cared for Kitty, and the thought of raising a litter with her was enough to make his tail wag fast enough to drop right off. She would be a brilliant mother, so kind, gentle, loving, patient. As she spilled her guts to him, he turned his head briefly to face her, amber eyes knowing and wise.
"I know, I know. It's all right." He nudged her gently, guiding her into the dark, warm den. It must be horrible sleeping here, he thought, all alone in the dark. Kitty wouldn't have to endure that any longer, Thorn promised himself silently, for he would sleep next to her every night until the pups were trainees. "You didn't embarass me, Kit. I understand, you're confused." He shifted his gaze, landing it upon the mossy floor of the Nursery. "I am too," he whispered only just loud enoug for her to hear. As soon as the words hit the warm air, the Bulldog uttered his name, her voice was sharp with agony. Lowering his head to touch noses with her, he rapsed his warm tongue over her cheek, trying to hide his panic.
"It's okay, Kitty, just breathe," He crooned, his voice gentle and steady, hopefully reassuring the female. "I'm here, I promise I won't leave you. The pups are coming," He smiled, struggling to keep his voice soft and even when all he wanted to do was scream with joy.

She looked at him as he said that the pups were coming, her eyes wide with fear. But, nevertheless, she nodded and followed his orders. Even if she knew nothing about birthing, she had a duty to these unborn pups. She concentrated on her breathing, which could be hard for a Bulldog, especially if they had the genetic snorting trait, which thankfully she didn’t.
She winced as another wave of pain swept over her, and she looked up at Thorn. Did he even know what he was doing? A panic began to rise within her, but she forced it back down, reminding herself that she needed to concentrate on her breathing. She felt her stomach muscles contract slightly, but not like a true contraction.
Perhaps it wasn’t going to happen, perhaps it was just….what else could it be. She sighed, finally coming to terms with the facts. This was it, and there was no, unfortunately, turning back.

Thorn lay down beside her head, rasping his long pink tongue gentle over her brow to help keep her cool. Panic rose inside him too, but he had a responsibility to Kitty, and he wouldn't let it show. A low whine escaped his vocals, a whine of excitement and anticipation.
"Come on Kit, you're doing amazingly." He crooned, his amber eyes sweeping over her bulky form, chest heaving in her attempts to breathe normally.
OOC // Let's just say they were born already...make her next post like...licking them off and stuff because I don't wanna read about birth... XD

Kitty yawned, utterly exhausted for all that had happened. However, she couldn’t rest until she knew that the pups were okay, licking one of over the head, she looked back up at Thorn. “What shall we name them?” she asked, before looking back down at the pups, moving slightly to start on the other one.
Both of them were males, and looked like one parent just as much as they looked like the other. One was obviously bigger, and seemed as if he would be the alpha pup. She’d thought of several names, but she wanted to hear Thorn’s ideas too. Even if he didn’t help with them, he should at least have a say in what they were to be named,
She yawned again, failing to stifle it. Shifting slightly so the pups could feed, she looked back up at thorn. At least things weren’t awkward anymore, or so she hoped.

The amount of joy that was coursing through the wolfdog's veins at that very moment was enough to fuel a rocket. He whined anxiously, tail wagging so fast that it threatened to knock Thorn down. He looked at his sons, two tiny dark balls of fur, writhing at their mother's side and squeaking their protests at being washed off. He had been thinking of names, but most of them were for females. The black wolfdog tilted his head, and a moment later it seemed as though a light bulb lit atop his head.
"Adonis. Let's name the smaller one Adonis. What do you think?" He smiled, rather proud of his decision. Adonis was a noble name indeed. "Okay, since I named one, you get to name the other." His smile turned into a grin, tail still wagging fiercely as he lay down, his side pressed against hers.

She nodded, thinking of a name for another one. He was the biggest of the two, and he seemed to be the alpha pup. She was silent for a moment or two, before finally deceiding on one. 'How about Edge?" she asked, looking back up at Thorn. It seemed like quite a good name, not posh or sissy or cheesey.
She almost laughed when she saw Thorn's face. He looked like as if he had just been told he was to receive unlimited steak for life. Well, at least he was happy instead of pissed off or something
[Occ// Sorry for the bad post. Low inspiration.]
