Alright, to further explain the plot, I'm going to divide it into chapters. Gray text will be chapters we have already covered, while black text signifies chapters to come. The current chapter will be in blue text.
Chapter One A Brief Era of Peace
The strays and the domestic dogs mostly stay out of each others' way. The town of Harlow is a peaceful, thriving place with happy, healthy residents and pets. Because of the town's relatively small population, the crime rate is low and everyone knows each other. The residents of Harlow love their pets and all is well, even the strays are thriving and mostly keeping to the forests.
Chapter Two Alone
The humans of Harlow are beginning to vanish, one by one. It is a complete mystery as to where they're going. Some say they magically disappear, while others swear they sneak out by night and move elsewhere. No one is certain, but there's one thing that is inevitable: the strays are beginning to hear about the disappearances, and they want the town to themselves! (Hey, who wouldn't want fresh garbage?) But the pets of Harlow aren't going to relent that easily. They elect a leader, a strong, healthy, brave dog who will go up against the legendary Darthyn. But assembling an army isn't as easy as it sounds. The stray pack is as healthy as ever, and with pups soon on the way, their future looks promising. Will the pets have what it takes to defend what is theirs or will the two leaders find a way to band together in the best bet at survival? Afterall, there is strength in numbers. But do the dogs know that?
Chapter Three The War Begins
Now the pets of Harlow have formed the Urban Pack and they are growing stronger by the day. Darthyn still has his eye on their territory in order to help his already massive pack grow even further. The Forest Pack, as the strays now call themselves, are intent upon dominating the abandoned town. Fighting breaks out, but soon the food in the Twoleg houses becomes scarce and the two factions may be FORCED to unite as one in order for the Urban Pack to survive. Can they get past their differences and unite with the Forest Pack, or will ancient disputes and rivalries bar the way to the future? It's up to you.
Chapter Four Rogue Invasion
There's a new dog in town, and he seems to be trustworthy. This dog has a few rogue followers and pretends to be faithful to Darthyn and his pack, so naturally the rogue dog and his comrades end up being accepted into the pack. But his quest for power leads him to plan an ambush for Darthyn that will be brought on by some of his other followers that live outside the pack, this way no one suspects the rogue leader of treatchery. (At this point, depending on whether the Urbans and the Foresters have decided to become allies or enemies previously in the plot, the Urbans will either help the Foresters or stay out of it altogether.) The rogue leader will maintain the fact that he doesn't know anything about the attack, and if Darthyn dies he will become leader of the Forest Pack. But Darthyn most likely will not die (depending on if I still want him alive), and the pack will fight against the new dog's band of rogue warriors. The rogue leader doesn't die, but he and his army are driven out of the Wilderness for good. They will then form a new pack and live in a place called the Wastelands, a very unpleasant place fit for unpleasant creatures such as the rogues themselves.
Chapter Five Peace is Fleeting
There is another brief era of peace that precedes the rest of the plot, which is presently undecided. The Urbans and the Foresters are all thriving, Darthyn is either well again or has been replaced by his successor, Nemesis. The Rogue Pack is hiding away in the Wastelands, but not for long.
Hot dang I should write a book! ;D
