x.Aphrodite.x Queen of the Streets.. The lovely aussie had made her way through the city to this trash- filled canyon, her beautiful eyes looking about curiously. She considered herself queen of the streets, but even a queen among the streets always enjoyed to eat a bit of junk food every once in a while.
Soft sigh slipped past her lips and she sauntered on through an alley of trash, her maw lifting to tip the air as she lightly scented about herself to see what all was there. Somewhere the scent of pizza lofted into her nares. Mm... It may not be hot, but it must still be somewhat good if I can still smell it.. she thought as she then lightly lowered her maw and started to sniff about.
The sun was just starting to rise, the dew still sitting upon the grass and cold iron bars within the dump site, leaving her forelegs moist from its kisses from when she'd stalked across the feild. She moved on over to a mound of trash, the scent becoming quite easy to pick up as she then rose lightly and used her paws to push a rubber tire from in front of her, using her paws then to dig about, maw jutting on inside as she sniffed about for the slice of pizza that's scent teased at her nose.

After all the time he had spent here in America, Jester still couldn’t find one good thing about the damn place. Especially now, the humans were all disappearing. Was this some kind of government trick? God the United States were just as bad as everyone said they were. Their language was horrible, so was their rules, and everything was corrupt. Now that he was stuck here though, he decided he might as well get use to it, and stop bitching about it.
Jester had discovered after getting lose that there was a place where lots of food always was. Scraps that he didn’t have to steal from the remaining humans and risk getting shoved into one of those dog prisons they had. If he ended up in one of those, he knew damn well that he’d be dead in less than a day. Those places had no mercy for dogs of his..well..condition. Jester snorted, blowing out the air held in his lungs through his nose. In Asia he was treated like a god, and now he was treated as nothing less than scum. Ch. American’s and their damned loss of morals and respect.
Slowly he made his way into the dump, dark brown eyes narrowed into a glare at the entire world. An ear twitched, perking up and tilting slightly as he listened to all the noises surrounding him. None of the noises he heard really caught his attention, though. It was all the usual noises, it seemed. Dragging his disgusting frame along, he used his noise to try and find some sort of decent food mixed in with the garbage that surrounded him. God, it smelled like decay and death at this place. It was disgusting.
Rounding a pile of trash, Jester found himself looking on at a fluffy mix-colored female. She seemed to be digging at some food, which smelt like some of that nasty greasy American food. The food here was far from healthy for dogs, let alone for the two-legged humans that created it. Yuck. Staring at the female, he cautiously approached, watching for any sort of hostile movement. Though, he didn’t have any fear of her, he really didn’t fear anyone for that matter. Stopping a foot or two from her, he promptly dropped his rump to the ground and sat. Opening his jaws, he gave her a sort of greeting, though he doubted she’d understand it, or appreciate it for the matter.
“Ozomashii amerikan inu.” [/blockquote]

Sucess, she'd finally snatched up the pizza slice, her harks pushing forward slightly as she looked about the pit of food she now had her head within, dual optics searching for anything else of good taste that she might see. Hmm.. Nothing. She began to pull back from the hole, hind legs stepping back as her front paws pushed from the food before her.
“Ozomashii amerikan inu.”[/b]
The sound startled her slightly, her pelt shifting with a brief shiver as she then swung her head on about, pizza slice now hanging from her pallid maw, as she leveled her eyes of chocolate and oceanic blue upon the speaker. Her ears perked as she looked to them, seeing that it was an odd sort of dog with a interesting coat and beautiful eyes. "Hm?" came the soft noise from her voicebox, auds perking in question.
She brought her form to step away from the mound of food and trash then as she sauntered on over to them quietly, her gaze never leaving their own. A bold move, perhaps, but the queen wasn't exactly one to run away just because someone spoke to her while she was getting food. Setting her slice of pizza down, she placed her paw upon it and canted her head off to one side as she looked to the brute. "Hello there. Just snatching myself some breakfast." spoke the multicolored vixen as she looked back to him.
She hadn't understood what he said, but she figured it to be polite to at least say hello and state what she had been doing. She hadn't been to the dump site for a while, and didn't know if anyone had claimed it as their terra, so manners would most likely be a good thing at a time like this.
Looking over the features of his face her gaze then traveled along his body and she found that he was quite skinny. Her auds pulled back softly, he must be so hungry.. She glanced down at the pizza that sat near her paw and then lowered her head, using her soft maw to push it closer to him. "Here, there's plenty of food to go around. I'll just snatch something else up." she said with a soft swish of her feathery tail. [/color] [/size]

Jester’s dark eyes watched the fluff ball as it turned to face him, his words catching her attention quickly. What he hadn’t expected though, was for the small dog to willingly approach him. While he had expected to grasp her attention, he didn’t think she would rush right on over to him. Were American dogs not educated on the diseases that ran around them and infected them? Living with humans must have softened them and make them weak. Idiots. Did she not know the dangers of approaching a stray with sarcoptic mange?
It wasn’t as though it was a hidden secret that Jester had, oh no. Ever single bit of his appearance screamed that he had things wrong with him. Almost every inch of his skin was bald, or only had short fuzzy hair left of what use to be a long beautiful brown and black coat. In general, the only place left that really had fur was his curled tail and his back along his spine. The skin exposed was nasty, pink and in some spots encrusted in dried blood and pus from the infections that came after he tore open his skin from itching. Fleas and ticks were constantly a bother to the dog, along with the mites that constantly reproduced and infested his skin. The dark circles around his eyes only made his dark brown eyes look that much more hollow and empty.
Why would a stupid female ever willingly approach a dog who looked so damned haggard and on the brink of death? Jester watched, in mixed confusion and amusement as she placed the pizza down. Then she began to speak, which drew his attention back up to her face as she greeted him. Jester understood English quite well, he just couldn’t speak it that good. Breakfast? Was this what she called breakfast? Back in Asia, for breakfast he would round up chicken eggs and strips of bacon right off the markets that he lived on. This slop of grease was no breakfast. Jester scrunched up his nose in disgust, but said nothing to the female but a single word. ”Baka.”
Continuing to watch, he observed as she lowered her head and pushed the slop of grease towards him. As disgusting as it was, he couldn’t pass down a meal that he didn’t have to even search for. It saved him time and effort. Though, this little slice wouldn’t fill him, but it would take away the ache that bothered his stomach. At least for a little while it would. Leaning his head down, Jester opened his jaws and quickly inhaled the food, devouring it in a split second. ”Thank you.” He murmured, spouting out a bit of known English finally. [/blockquote]

She didn't understand what the brute said, but she had an idea that the word 'Baka' meant that he didn't like it. She picked that up from his expression. It was looking like it'd be an interesting time trying to figure out what he wanted, that is until she saw what he did next at her offering.
She watched as he took in her slice, his next few words surprising her as he said "Thank You" It was clear that he wasn't from America, she could pick that up from his language and by how oddly he stared at her, but at least he knew a few words to speak with. She gave a soft nod as she looked back to the brute, her tail lightly flowing behind her as she stepped back from him so that he could eat.
Looking about the place she then lifted her maw once more and closed her eyes, scenting things upon the wind in search of something else that might have been freshly dumped. Again, the scent of tomatoes flowed into her nares and she turned to her right to follow its scent trail back into the heap of which she'd snatched the pizza from. Using her paw to nudge a chunk of stale bread away, she soon revealed a white food take out carrier and picked it up tossing it to her right, causing it to burst open, spaghetti sauce then splatting about as noodles draped from its sides.
She looked back to the new brute with a smile then and moved over to the spaghetti and sat. "Enjoy your meal." she said with a swish of her tail as she leaned down to start eating. She soon paused though as she looked up at him once more. "Oh... and by the way, my name's Aphrodite. But you can call me Aphie if you want."

Jester continued to watch the female quietly, observing her every movement. It wasn’t so much that he was curious about her, but more of his way of keeping his guard up. The small dog wasn’t much of a threat, but he knew that he wasn’t in his best condition ever, that was quite obvious. Though, she didn’t seem to be hostile. It could be all an act. Jester was not a foolish dog. Years of living on the streets had taught him to be very street smart.
Though, the streets of Asia and America were different. He had already noticed the differences, and adjusted to them. In Asia, there were a lot more cars than here in this empty deserted town. There were no open markets here either, so stealing food was quite different here. Dogs were also treated like crap here in America. Oh well. Reminiscing on the past was going to get him nowhere. The future was before him now.
Idly, he thumped his tail softly against the ground, smacking a can and causing it to roll a foot or so. Bits of his hair fell off of his tail, collecting on the dirt and pieces of trash close by. Bah. He’d be bald in five minutes if he kept thumping his tail around like some silly puppy. His tail curled up against his legs and went motionless after the very thought. His ears once more perked up as the female spoke, speaking of her own name, along with a sort of nickname, giving him a choice of the two.
”Watashi wa Jesterchord desu.” He murmured in reply, a full on laugh escaping his vocal cords afterwards. This dog wouldn’t understand that at all. Mimicking the females choice of words, his nose scrunched before he attempted to introduce himself in English. ”Jesterchord. My name. Jester. ‘Stand?” Leaning his head closer to her, his head tilting to the side before he snorted at her. ”Get it?” [/blockquote]

Again, an odd phrase slipped past the maw of the brute, leaving her confused, but he seemed to he learning and catching on little by little. He said his name, a smile then gracing the soft white maw of the vixen as she looked back to him. "Jesterchord... Nice to meet you." she said as her feathery and soft tail flowed behind her from side to side for a moment.
She then lowered her maw as she snatched up some of the spaghetti noodles from within the food carrier and started to eat. After taking a bite and swallowing it, she looked back up to him curiously and tilted her head. "Where are you from?" she said in a gentle voice as she then looked back within his eyes.
His eyes, they were really pretty and added character to his whole look. She then looked to his coat and wondered if he was in pain or not as she saw the sores and such adorning his form. But then of course, he was probably used to it by now and it probably didn't bother him anymore. She hoped that was the case. She hated to see other canines suffer from sickness and such.
