Her head held high, the skinny femme slinked across the realm, pausing after a moment. She looked down at anything, her entire movement exuding arrogance. It was a façade, of course. She was ready for anything, her body taut as a bow. She slanted her eyes to the right, then to the left, turning her head slightly so she could see behind her. She moved back to her original stance, her nose tasting the air for any canine that would appear. Ava didn't socialize much, she didn't talk to the other canines. She hadn't for a year and ten months, and she was deciding that she needed to end that. She hated to admit it, but she might need to be in a pack. Her pride wouldn't allow her to say that out loud, but she'd think it, accept it, and do something about it. Two years running around a loner, she had of course gotten a tad lonely. But that hadn't been an issue, she'd always been able to ignore it. But after seeing a loner that she'd been contemplating getting to know attacked and killed, well she knew she needed to do something about her stance in life.
"Well, I suppose I'll be waiting here forever." She grumbled, tossing her head as she looked around. All a part of the act, she knew that, but did whoever was coming to test her? No, of course not. She didn't know what the alpha was like for this stray pack, though she'd been on the streets for two years. She hadn't run into the pack before, steering clear of anyone that had anything to do with being in close corners with other canines. It wasn't her way of life, and she knew it. She accepted how she did things, if other people had problems with it, they could deal with it.

A massive figure was silhouetted along the walls of the Lodge, the feeble light casting dominating shadows over the realm and making his stature appear like that of a Great Dane. As if on cue, a heavy raincloud moved over the sun, blocking its rays from reaching the Lodge. The shadow died down some, revealing the true nature of the beast that lay within.
Out of the shadows stepped a rather adorable chihuahua. He was not built like most chis were, with a huge head and a bulky body with tiny legs. His body was like that of a racehorse, his legs taking up about 60% of his height. He was, in truth, a lean, mean flirting machine. Life on the streets had given him a rugged, chiseled appearence, and his ribs showed slightly through his thick flaxen fur, though he didn't look scrawny or hungry in the least. He padded up to the femme, surprisingly quickly for one so small, and gave her a bequiling look that only the Latin possess.
"Buenos dias, senorita." He proclaimed, his voice amazingly deep and flirtacious. He had that certain je ne se quoi that flowed only through the blood of the Latinos, and made him suave and wily toward members of the opposite sex. "I am Rrrrico," He said, rolling the r in an exotic manner. "I am Darthyn's right-hand amigo. Bienvenido a the Lodge!" He said, portraying such a false grandeur to the place with the tone of his heavily manicured voice.

She lifted her chin a bit when she felt the darkening presence, the cloud moving over the sun. But she could not help the wry grin that touched her muzzle, Drama, drama, drama. Have you no class? She thought in the safety of her mind, restraining a bit of laughter. She was too stunned to keep the shock from her face though, when the most adorable Chihuahua came out though.
She listened with an attentiveness that only appeared every now and again, usually when she was touched by something or someone. This little dog, Rico he said his name was, had indeed touched her a bit. No, she wouldn't go as far as to say that he held her trust in an instant, that was stupid. Her trust was something that took months to attempt to have. But she could entertain herself along the way. She merely hoped she didn't slip up, her social skills were about a few years rusty.
She knelt down, her forelegs laying on the earth whilst her hind legs remained up. Her neck leaned down so she was level with the little dog, though he seemed to make up for his height with his wit. "A pleasure, Rico. I was…err…blessed with the name Ava." She said, swallowing to allow her pipes a bit more moisture. She'd almost forgotten what her own voice sounded like. She lifted her eyebrows as he referred to himself as the 'right hand' to a mysterious dog. Probably the alpha she'd never met. "I hope this Darthyn is as nice as you, then again, how could a poor girl sell her heart to two males?" She teased him, her eyes dancing, all thoughts of her act gone.

Got her, he thought, eyebrows wiggling in a silly fashion. He inclined his neck to allow his nose to touch hers, but the contact between the two canines was fleeting. "Ava. A beautiful name," he said, his voice flowing like silk, "for a most beautiful dog." He grinned.
She looed as if she belonged on some show platform with a medal around her neck and roses tossed at her feet. He smiled wearily, looking up at the sky. Rain was coming. "And Darthyn isn't quite as nice as Rrrrico, but do not tell heem I said that, comprendo, chica?" He chuckled, large, expressive brown eyes twinkling good-naturedly. "So I must ask, what business have you here, my little churro?"

She laughed at his absurd compliment. Beautiful dog, feh. She thought, unable to hold back a grin. Beautiful, bone thin dog. She almost jumped back at the brief contact, but managed to keep her manners in place. Got to remember that…. She reminded herself, placing a soft smile on her countenance.
She followed his gaze up to the angry sky, the colors of it so close together it was a beauty in and of itself. "Don't worry, your secrets safe with me." She laughed, her eyes dancing with mischief. Though they turned a little harder when he asked her business. Her business was not a pleasant one, at least not for her. After two years on the run, alone, how was she supposed to mix back in so suddenly?
"I actually came to join up…I decided to finally get some brains for once." She said, moving her shoulders in an almost shrugging action.

Deep brown eyes twinkled with mischief as well, and, drawing in a deep breath, the Chihuahua adressed her professionally.
"Ah, I see. Well, pack life is good, you will have no problems fitting in, bonita, don't you worry." He gave her a wily grin and arched one brow high above the other. "Rico will watch out for you." He nodded, getting up from his position on the comfortable dirt. He shook his honey-colored fur to rid himself of all the loose dust particles that had settled there while they had been chatting. "Well, I must be off, lots of um, things to attend to, you know?" Though in reality, the male just had to pee really badly, and he found it rude to just urinate in front of a new friend. Not much of a turn-on.

"'Scuse me, little fellow," Came a deep, gravelly voice. Soon after it, followed a dark shadow which loomed right over Rico, managing to cover the small, adorable chiuahaha completely.
Behind that shadow, was by the looks of it, a baby bear. Excluding te golden colour of his limbs and tawny shade of his back and face, Fynn could easily pass for a smaller version of the great black beast. His thickset bone structure was made to look even larger by his shaggy coat of thick fur. Even then, it was easy to see the lithe, thick muscles in ever limb tauten and release with every large footprint the massive dog made. Each step sent miniscule vibrations through the dry ground, sending up microscopic clouds of dust in his wake.
However, Fynn's ebony eyes were gentle, and the little smile on his face didn't purposefully reveal his glistening canines. For all his dominating appearances, Fynn was more of a big, friendly giant. He knew that sometimes he intimidated smaller dogs, so he lay down on the floor to face Rico, tail wagging slightly.
"I'd like a word about your pack, If I may?"He asked inquisitively, not before a polite nod to Ava to excuse himself if he was interrupting anything. "M'lady," He greeted her respectfully.

She held back yet another laugh when he seemed to take a new air, a more professional tone. And yet his words were hardly professional, just slightly less flirtatious then before, but nonetheless still flirty. Rico will watch out for you. His words caused her to frown inwardly, though on her face and in her eyes she did not allow such a down emotion to show through. She took after herself, always had. Maybe this would be slightly harder then she had anticipated.
She stood up as he did, stretching her long legs. The reality of how small he was only increased when she stood up, leaving him behind down there. Humor danced in her eyes, though she dared not say a thing in that respect towards the proud little Chihuahua. "Of course, do not let me keep you. It was a pleasure to meet you." She said, nodding her head in a respectful manner.
But she could not help the laugh that bubbled up from inside her when a bear like dog came and completely covered Rico with his shadow. She immediately fixed it, holding back the comedic laughter that seemed to want release. She was about to turn to go, delaying that a moment to incline her head towards the new male. "Sir." She said, her tone every bit as respectful as his had been to her.

Rico's eyes widened as the massive dog loomed over him like a dominating mountain, so large and beast-like in size that it cast a deep, dark shadow over everything that lay beneath it. He managed not to shiver slightly, as was instinct for his breed. Aye! Eet's a bear! He thought to himself, but realized that bears weren't indiginous to these parts, nor did they have golden fur and a long, fluffy tail. He tilted his head to the side quizically, but held his ground.
"I may be muy pequeno in size, senior oso, but in heart, I am like a drrrrragon." He grinned comically, large bat-like ears twitching. He chuckled inwardly at the nickname he had given to the dog, mister bear. "I am Rico. The alpha, Darthyn, is out right now, having a swim I theenk. But I can help you in regards to the pack." The small male padded up to the brute, eyes sternly gazing at him. He inclined his small round head in order to get a better scent of Fynn. But looked over to Ava instead.
"Adios, mi amiga." He wagged his tail in a sort of waving gesture and gave a happy little smile, but turned back to the dominant-looking bear-thing.

She grinned, shaking her head at what little she had understood of what Rico had said. He did indeed have a bit of spirit for that little body. She inclined her head yet again, her eyes revealing just how funny she thought he was. "Ciao, puppy dog." She teased him one last time, before turning and leaving, her body moving gracefully over the turf.

Fynn's smile widened into a wolfish grin as the smaller dog in front of him rattled off a joke in a rather unusual accent, that seemed to suit him immensely. Fynn didn't recognise quite a few of the words the chiuahaha had mentioned; normally Fynn would only misunderstand a couple of longer words, but he managed to feel slightly lost today.
"Senyorr-oh-so?" He asked bemusedly, a hint of a chuckle in his rugged voice. "I don't know what that means, but my name's Fynn. I don't suppose i'd be able to join Darthyn's pack, do you know? If you could take me there..."
ooc; Sorry, it's icky-short.
