She tried, she really, really, tried. For two days, tops. She had attempted to not go to the pack and ask to be allowed in, but she had not been able to do it. The world terrified her without someone else there. She'd lived all her life with her father, and once that idiot had gotten into a fight, there was no stopping him. Not till he finally got what he wanted, to meet up with her mother in heaven. Lila lifted her tiny head, looking around her carefully. Nope, nothing. Then again, there might have been something, but with her too trusting ways, Lila put it away as a bunny or something else that she needn't pay mind to.
"Hello? Anybody there?" She called out, straining her little neck to see better. It was no use, the little Chihuahua was going to have to deal with the fact that she was too small to see anything. And how was she to proceed from here? To wait patiently and say nothing whatsoever. She could do it…maybe.

Moist black nose twitched comically as his sensitive nostrils picked up a scent. He sampled the air, letting his small pink tongue loll out of parted jaws in order to let taste aid smell. It was a dog, a young female by the scent of it. He lifted a brow, large brown eyes dancing with giddiness. Setting off at a quick trot, his long flaxen fur danced upon the wind with each dainty step. He slowed his pace when he came to areas of dampened earth, collecting a small layer of mud on his lengthy undercoat as he tramped through the soggy mud that the earlier rainstorm had so graciously created. Oh wonderful, her first impression of me is going to be lovely. As he poked his head through the thick foliage, he smiled.
Sitting there in the clearing was a gorgeous young chihuahua, just Rico's size. His ears flitted upwards, hoping to catch any sound the glorious being may utter. When she was silent for a full three minutes, he pushed his way out of the dense undergrowth and padded up to her slowly, careful not to frighten her too much. She looked timid, big, expressive brown eyes swimming with grief and fright. Rico sat a few tail-length's away and tilted his head. He cleared his throat.
"Are you okay, senorita?" He inched a bit closer, but was weary, the true method of the stray. "Are you lost?" He questioned, for she looked a bit too delicate for these parts.

Her face broke into one of pure happiness to see a fellow canine, especially one of her breed and stature. The chihuahua seemed to be cautious, though she certainly had no idea why. A smile on her lips, as always, her eyes brightened when he spoke. "I'm perfectly fine, thank you." She told him, not a trace of sarcasm in her words as others might have had. "No, out of place as I may look, I came here of my own accord." Lila told the male.
She tilted her head to the side a bit as she watched him, attempting to figure him out. It was true that she was overly friendly and way too trusting at times, but what was a girl to do when she'd grown up with the home life Lila had? She was used to kind people, but something about the male's weary approach told her that maybe her life had been too different from others.

Rico smiled, happy to hear that she was not ailing in some way. His tail began to wag faster, as he became more comfortable around the female, for she showed no signs of agression. He nodded his small, round head and padded up to sit next to her, sniffing her to get her scent so he could remember her. He would remember.
"I must say, I haven't seen a dog as perfect as you in all my days on the streets." He was being completely sincere, ears perked cutely. "I'm Rico, beta of the strays." He announced proudly, holding his chest out with an air of confidence.

Penny walked in the area... She had followed Rico from the waterfall shores.
"Hey, i don't mean to but in the conversation, but um... need some help seeing? I'm a chihuahua too and you can stand on my back!"

((yay! i'm onnnn!!))
His grin heightened her good mood, and her answering grin was just as big as his. Her eyes sparkled with her happiness as he moved closer to her, watching him take her scent. She breathed in his as well, memorizing the patterns in it. He was a little muddy, to be sure, but his underlying scent was very clear despite this fact.
Had she been human she would have blushed, lowering her eyelids demurely at his lovely compliment. He had to be kidding, the brown and black femme was far from perfect. "Thank yo, that's kind of you to say. She answered, a small smile on her lips. "I'm Lila, a pleasure to meet you, Rico." She said, looking at him again.
Laughter burst from her chest when another Chihuahua entered, saying one of the most absurd things. "Thank you, but no, I'm fine. I was merely looking to see if another dog was around." She grinned as she spoke, her smile pleasant and welcoming.
