The day had been boring. Dust clouds swirled around the dog as she lay on the ground, eyes searching the area around her dejectedly. She hadn't bothered to enter the lodge that rested in front of her. If the pack really wanted her off the land, Shadow implied, one of them would come out here to kick her off. For now, the black female heaved a sigh of bordem, eyes looking around for any signs of life. None what so ever that she could spot. Giving up, she lowered her head to her fore-paws, closing eye-lids over crimson optics.
Cursing the fact that light was attracted to the color obsidian, the pure black fem rolled over onto her back, folding her front legs up to her chest while her hind legs stretched out. Tail curled up between her haunches, resing limply on her stomach. The Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute mix couldn't really care less if any but Darthyn found her. In fact, the only reason Shadow even cared about the Alpha finding her in this rather...welcoming position, is because of the fact that the female had never been the best at first impressions. Growling quietly at the thought of being judged by the leader, she rolled again, this time just flopping over to lay on her left side, wolf-like muzzle stretching out in front of her. And she waited, for something she dreaded to come.
[OOC: Blegh. That purely sucked. Sorry. +sigh+]

ooc // Mine will suck too. As most people already know, I HATE joining posts, so this will be short and sweet, if you don't mind.
The warmth that soaked into his skin was welcoming, a great contrast from the cold winds that had buffeted the night before. Glad of the sunshine, Darthyn had been trotting through the woods, just warming his fur and enjoying the day. He had hoped there wouldn't be anything to distract him, but of course, there was.
In the clearing lay a pretty black Husky-type dog. Darthyn inhaled deeply, drawing in her scent.
Female, young and confident.
He sniffed again, hoping to glean more information from her smell, but to no avail. He could smell the faintest trace to Twoleg on her, but he presumed she had just been rummaging through the dumpsters, nothing more. Shrugging to himself, he decided to walk toward the newcomer and introduce himself. Her posture clearly told him that she meant no harm, so the alpha padded slowly toward the laying dog.
"Good morning, newcomer." He nodded briskly, hoping to make this as quick as possible. "I'm Darthyn, can I help you?"

The scent of him made her nostrils twitch and flare. Her harks pricked forward, the one closest to where he stood swivelling toward the sound of the male's pads hitting the ground as he came toward her. Quickly, she picked her head up, regally-pointed muzzle shifting to look over her back, as Darthyn - the leader she automaticly recognized - stood behind her. Ears fell back but didn't touch her cranium, showing the slightest sign of submission. Not to mention the rather layed-back, easy-going position she currently heald showed she had no intentions of causing any sort of trouble. "A pleasure to be of your aqquaintance, Darthyn," she growled out softly, in an obviously non-aggressive tone. "My calling is Shadow."
Narrowing her gaze against the sun, Shadow drew her crimson optics up to look over the Alpha's face and body, memorizing it for further use. The female only needed to see something once to remember it. Finally realizing that she wasn't presenting herself in such a respectful manner, the mutt rolled to her paws, standing and shaking herself off briskly before settling back on muscled haunches. "Sorry about that," she murmered quietly, then cleared her throat and continued on. "I'm here in hopes of joining your elite group of canines." She paused for a moment, sighing at her attempts at sucking up. Submitting just wasn't her thing. "Your pack, I mean..." she hissed under her breath, head lowering unconciously in slight embarressment.
Well, this was considered smooth for Shadow, so the female guessed she could be thankful for that much.
[OOC: Not a problem. : )]

Deciding that it was safe enough to sit down, he perched on his haunches, eying her wearily. She seemed confident, although a bit awkward in some ways. Tilting his head, his listened to her, and it was not until after she had finished her monologue that he spoke:
"Welcome, then, to the pack, Shadow." He knew this was a bit too quick, but if she were here to infiltrate, she would have already ambushed him. It wasn't often that the alpha was on his own, practically open to attack. Nodding to her, he said, "I'm sorry, but i must be off, I've got to meet someone. The Nesting Hollow is over there," He motioned with his nose. "The lake is that way," he nodded in the opposite direction. "I hope you find everything, I must go. Goodbye."
