A petite, rather feminine figure of a dog sat in the middle of the fields, her tongue lolling out the side of the mouth as she glanced around, panting very slightly. The dog's name was Rita, she lived and worked for her owner on the farm, but at the moment she was pregnant with her true love's pups, Loch, and had decided to take a rest from her work and relax. Slowly standing up, her bulk weighing her down, she began to pad slowly through the tall grass, her eyes bright; filled with content and peace.
For the moment she felt at peace with the world, happy to just watch the world go by. This was the life, being a pregnant femme; no hassle, no hard work. All you had to do was lie down all day watching telly, only breaking to eat, or get the occasional walk in for excercise.
In all honesty, she looked forward to her walks. She preferred to be out in the country side than cooped up in the house all day. It was a pretty big house, though, you could do whatever you wanted, but it was too modern for her, she liked the simplicity of the country fields.
Sighing happily she sat once more, her heard skipping a beat when she thought she caught the scent of Loch. Turning around quickly, she doubted whether it was him, and whether it was just her imagination playing tricks on her.

The large golden mutt picked his way carefully through the bushes, knowing full well what sat on the other side. Rita's scent was heavy in the air and it clung to Loch's scent glands like flies on candy. Opening his jaws slightly, he breathed in, the sweet spring air filling him with vigor. Stepping quietly out of the bushes, his amber gaze instantly met the warm eyes of his mate. She had sensed his presence.
A smile quickly surfaced to light up Loch's rugged features, his eyes gleaming happily as he took in the sight of the beautiful farm dog with her swollen belly. As he stepped gingerly onto the new spring grass, ears alert for signs of her Twolegs, he gave a soft, excited whine. As soon as he reached the female, he touched noses with her, reveling at her touch, and went to sit by her, pressing his flank up against hers.
"You look well," he spoke quietly, his usually stern amber gaze filled with admiration for the female. Though he was relaxed around her, he made sure to keep an ear out for her master, who wouldn't appreciate seeing the dog that impregnated his herder. Loch's own thin body paled in comparison to Rita's, who was well fed, her coat shining in the setting sun, while Loch's was dull and unkempt. He looked into her eyes and realized how different they both were, but also realized how little it mattered to him.

ooc// IT WORKED =D
bic// His sweet aroma filled her nostrils, a small shiver of excitement tingled her spine. Her brow creased at the sight of his skinny figure, though, he seemed badly fed, Rita didn't like seeing him like that. She grunted at his comment, 'Thanks, but look at you...' Looking back up at him, her frown disspeared to be replaced with a broad smile. Cuddling up to his warm fur a thought hit her.
'Why don't you try hunting around here? A stray sheep going missing won't get master too worked up, he'll just thinkn it was them wolves that come every now and then.'

Loch smiled as her warm pelt brushed against his, but his brow furrowed at her words. He knew he was thin, but all street dogs looked like this. However, a beautiful female was offering to let him hunt a sheep without fear of getting caught.
Lifting one brow in question, he said, "Thank you, Rita, my love." Giving her an affectionate lick on the muzzle, he smiled once again at her round belly, knowing that his pups were safe inside. "But I will return at nightfall to hunt. I don't want your Twoleg seeing me, he'll shut you up inside for ever." Knowing there was an element of truth in that statement, he began to gently groom her soft fur.
"How do you feel?" he asked, pausing between licks to motion toward her swollen belly.

She watched him lovingly, 'Good idea,' she said softly, leaning against him gently, she breathed in his sweet scent, her brown orbs glittered softly. 'He's not as bad as you think, you know...' she muttered, although she knew that he wouldn't take kindly to seeing her mate. 'I...We're doing fine. The farm is a perfect place for looking after pups...'
She paused, 'Oh why won't you come live with me and the pups? Settle down as a family, you know?' she pleaded. 'The little boy will love you, and you'll get all your meals free!' her eyes were large, full of emotion. It was the only thing left in the world she wanted. Needed.

He seemed to be considering her words for a moment, but then he shook his head vigorously.
"No, Rita. You know I have a loyalty to my pack that I cannot break. Darthyn needs experienced warriors now more than ever. But the farm is not too far, I can come an visit you every other day. I just...I couldn't go back to being 'Buddy'." He let his gaze fall, remembering his soft, comfortable life as a pet and grimaced. He would never be 'Buddy' again.

As she listened to him speak, tears pricked her eyes. She watched him, anger and sorrow growing in her eyes before she turned away sharply. She glared at the grass below her like it had personally insulted her.
'Right,' she said simply ('though pretty peed off), although she hoped she hoped that one syllable would be a knife through his heart. She'd had this talk with him so many times before, but frankly, it was starting to piss her off, though it was probably just the hormones.
'That's great, now piss off to your pack-' she growled, starting to pad back to her cosy, warm farm house. Suddenly she stopped, frowned and lifted a paw, twisting her neck round toward Loch, though not all the way.
She opened her mouth to speak then turned fully around and looked him in the eye, '-and don't come back 'til you're a father my pups can look up to.'
She had purposely chose the words 'my pups' so he got the message loud and clear.
Snorting, and discreetly taking in his amazingly wonderful scent she turned and padded away, although it felt like she had been stabbed in the heart, part of her immediately regretted trying to hurt him like that, the other told her he deserved it.
It was either that one was only her hormones playing up, or that the other was just a pang of guilt for trying to hurt the only wolf she ever loved or could love again.
