Fell was bored, and when he was bored, he caused mischief. Well, he caused mischief a lot of the time, but more so when he was bored. The family was off eating dinner, and they had just left. It took just a few mere seconds for him to decide what he wanted to do. Steal some shoes from in the house, and then find somewhere to stash the shoes. Then probably jump the fence and take a stroll around the street. The fence was barely three feet; it was more for decoration than keeping in the large dog that lived at the house. He hardly jumped it, so his owners didn’t really see the point in putting up a taller and uglier fence.
Slipping through the doggy door, Fell romped on up the stairs and quickly made his way towards the master bedroom. It didn’t take long for his dark brown eyes to land on a nice pair of shoes. Gripping them in his jaws, Fell then wandered on back down the stairs and out the back door. Taking them towards the front of the house, he dumped them on the front lawn. The brute took a moment to look around, seeing if there was any perfect spot to hide the shoes.
There was a good spot, a flower garden with a few empty flower pots here and there. Fell placed one shoe in one flower pot, and then dumped the other in the actual flower garden. It probably not the smartest idea, because humans weren’t font of their flowers getting ruined. Did Fell care? Well, not too much really. Now, to clear that fence and get away from the house for a half hour or so! Fell wandered towards the fence, sizing up how far back he would have to walk to get a running start. It really wouldn’t take that much effort for him to jump it, so he took a few steps back. His body lowered to the ground, muscles bunching up in his hind legs.
Spring! Fell launched himself over the fence, landing on the other side without a problem. The male stretched out before making his way down the driveway and towards the street. Hm..now what to do?

It was midday, hot as Hell, and a particularly boring day all-in-all. The large, air-conditioned house was quiet and still except for a light clicking of the clock in the upstairs bedroom. For such a large house, there were only two occupants. Melanie, a young college student, and her guard and companion Dahlia, a female Shar-Pei. Melanie darted to the door and grabbed her car-keys off of the table and called for Dahlia.
The exotic dog jumped up immediately from her place in front of the couch and went outside into the heat. She crinkled her nose, which was already wrinkled enough, and looked up as her owner left in her shiny rolling machine. She lay her head on the hot paved walkway near the road and sighed lightly, waiting for something to amuse her. Next door, a fluffy, handsome male was causing a ruckus... Hiding shoes, and then finally jumping over the fence. He trudged down the road, having a hotshot air of youthful immortality about him.
Dahlia's small, dark eyes glared as he paused in the road between her and the other end of the street. She growled lightly at him, subconsciously, a sound barely audible but the natural agression that became her was easily visible in her eyes.

Fell wasn’t aware that his neighbor was watching him. Well, that was until he heard a small noise. One of his large ears tilted as the noise reached him. Was it a growl? Fell wasn’t really sure, but out of curiosity he turned his body towards where the noise had came from. The only other creature in the vicinity was the Shar-Pei that was laying on walkway. Judging by the aggression shown in her eyes, he only had to figure the noise had come from her in the first place. Why was she glaring at him? He didn’t do anything wrong, or had she been watching him?
A small rumble of a growl escaped the male as he stared over at the Shar-Pei. Slowly, he took a step or two in her direction. Then he decided against further approaching her, and simply sat down on the ground. The large fluffy thing he called a tail swept across the ground before curling against his legs. Slowly, his jaw dropped before he finally spoke towards the female. ”What?” He bluntly asked, staring at the female. If she had a problem, he would love to hear all about it. She didn’t know him, so she didn’t have a reason to be glaring at him like that.

The other dog made his way somewhat closer, emitting a low growl to her and giving a single sharp word. Dahlia slipped a light, ghost of a smile at the fluffy male and she lay her head in his direction. Her dark eyes fixated on him once again, encasing him in an onyx tomb as her smile twitched lightly, It slipped. Her eyes sheilded momentarily, and she basked in the sun.
She could almost feel her body soaking up the sun's vibrant rays, setting off the rose-colored hairs of her bristly coat. Her curled tail swished lightly and she opened her eyes once more to look at her neighbor, not saying anything but those two words she'd spoke in reply to his question. She was a quiet dog, needing coaxing or to be provoked to speak much at all.
The dog was still sitting near her, relentlessly, but she continued to watch him carefully for any signs of advancement or aggression. At the moment his strangely colored tail curled around his body, his black ears were erect, and his eyes were on the shar-pei female in front of him. Upon observation, the primitive dog sensed a feral bloodline in this new dog and she was slightly intruiged. Although by looking at her, you'd never know it.

A single large ear tilted, and then twitched as the female replied. A short two answers was all he got. Well, she was just as blunt as him! Apparently she wasn’t very social, either. The corner of his lips curled into a sort of grin. ”Sure it did.” Of course, he wasn’t sure if it really did or not. He had the feeling that it didn’t, though. Fell could be quite the judgmental dog, and at the moment he was thinking this female wasn’t very friendly, or she just didn’t like him for some odd reason. Maybe she was just quiet, that was always a possibility wasn’t it?
Fell’s large tail lifted, only to fall and smack the earth gently. It caused some dirt to shift around, though. Man, sitting in the dirt was probably a bad idea. His fluffy coat was easy to get dirty since a lot of it was white fur. Humans liked to give baths to animals that were dirty. Fell wasn’t a fan of getting drenched in water and rubbed with liquid that smelled all human-like. The male scrunched his nose at the thought of a bath and quickly lifted his body from the dirt. A sidewalk would prove to be a much less dirty place to sit, so that’s exactly where he went. Then he simply flopped his body onto the sidewalk with a small grunt.
The female was still watching him, but that was okay, he was still watching her. He really wasn’t sure what to make of her just yet. ”Did you get thrown outside of your home?” He asked. It seemed it was that way, because most dogs wouldn’t enjoy a hot day outside. Fell would have been inside because there was a dog door, but it was boring inside. Unless he wanted to destroy the house, but that meant being punished. That was something he really didn’t want at the moment.

The male dog moved off of the patch of dirt and onto the white sidewalk where she was laying. Once again, he small eyes continued to keep him in check and on occasion a smile danced across her crevassed face. The smile remained longer as he replied to her sarcastic excuse for her growling and then she turned her head away from him to watch a young boy pass on a bicycle.
Mmmm...No. She responded in a low, sing-song voice. As hardy as the Shar-Pei was, she would be at a loss without her master and she would be the first to admit such. She was dedicated to Melanie like no other being on the planet... A least this is the relationship she boasted to others. It was rare that someone stuck around long enough to get her to open up into pleasant conversation.
A fly buzzed by, steering itself in and out of grassblades and over fences before landing on Dahlia's ear. She raised her head to shake the bug away, which spiraled out of control and then flew on its way. Her small, triangular ears twitched, but were naturally so close to her skull that it was hard to notice.
She turned her attention now back to the other dog, which was still staying in his same position. She raised a brow in interest of his persistance, eyes glittering with some hidden jest.

Fell tilted his head slightly to one side. Man, this female really didn’t want to talk to him. Maybe it was some sort of..test..to see if he would stick her lack of answers out. Maybe she was a tease? The male inhaled, and blew out the air through his nostrils, causing a sort of sighing to escape. Then his head dropped onto his forepaws.
”If you talked anymore, I think my ears would explode.” He told her, a sort of grin on his lips. It was a sarcastic but humorous comment. Yet another attempt to get the female to start talking to him. Why did he even care though? He could go run off and find someone else to talk to who would probably be a lot more talkative. Well, for one thing, the large brute was stubborn. Plus he liked the thrill of a chase, it ran in his bloodlines from his father being a wolf. It didn’t matter if it was a chase during tag, or just a race, or anything. There was always a goal, and he wanted to reach it. His goal here, he decided, would be to get the female to start talking to him more. Would he succeed? Maybe he would, especially since he had a lot of patience, and time to kill.
His family wouldn’t be home for a while, and either way, they were neighbors. So, if he didn’t succeed, he could try tomorrow, or the day after that. Oh wow that made him sound like a stalker. Ah well, this female would be stuck with him and talk eventually! Well, at least that’s what Fell could only wish for.
Fell suddenly became aware that the female was looking over at him again, giving him an odd look. In return, he lifted a brow right back at her. ”Whats that look for?”

After a slight doze-off into her own little personal world, Dahlia looked back over and noticed suprise! that the male was still here. He had made a slight sigh and continued to prod her with questions. At his next, humerous comment she laughed quietly. It was a short, curt, controlled sound; and she replied, We wouldn't want that.
She fell further into intruge with this stranger which she did not know. Odd thing was, they were neighbors and had never really met. Dahlia wasn't a very social dog, however, and that would explain their lack of interaction thus far. It took a lot to impress her, but his persistance did cease her aggressive nature for the time being. She was not an extremely attractive dog, at least not in the orthodox sense, and perhaps it added as an insecurity. This dog was apparently out alot, and she stayed inside most of her time.
His next question recieved another short answer in the fashion of all the others, Nothing. She smiled again, sharp incisors showing slightly at the corners of her mouth as directed her attention to grass that had sprouted up between the cracks in the pavement.
Stubborn plants could grow anywhere...
((ooc: gah, this is a horrid post =[..))

Fell let out a small laugh as she replied to his humorous comment. ”You never know, I just might want it.” He replied, grinning slightly. Naturally, it was yet another sarcastic comment. There was no way that he would ever want his ears to explode. Being a deaf dog would just suck, end of story.
Yes, they indeed were neighbors. It was odd they hadn’t bumped into each other before. Fell had called this place home for a whole three years now. It was true, he was outside a lot more than indoors. It was just another thing that ran in his blood, he loved the outdoors. Being indoors was just flat out boring, and there was nothing to do. Being outside, the possibilities were endddlless. Fell was outside a lot, and he hardly ever saw this female. So he had to guess either she had just moved in, or she just didn’t like the outdoors as much.
Yet another short, one word answer. Fell turned his attention from the female, looking around for something more interesting. Well, there really wasn’t anything interesting out here at the moment. It was too hot, most people would be indoors enjoying their air conditioning. Slowly, his dark eyes turned back to the shar-pei. ”So, whats it take to get a pretty lady like you to start talking?” He asked, tossing in a small bit of flattery and humor towards the female. She definitely wasn’t the most pretty dog he had ever seen, but she wasn’t the ugliest dog on earth either.

She did not react to his next humorous remark, her face as sullen and content as ever. He did raise up on her stomach, head erect like the foo dogs of the oriental land her breed was from. She now directly looked at the dog's appearance, deciphering his breed as best she could. Some feral creature, she could discern. Perhaps a wolf, humans often tampered with nature and created such hybrids as wolf-dogs and coydogs. He was too brawny for a coyote mix. Wolf, maybe her guess was correct.
She laughed aloud at his flattering terms, her tone full and as sarcastic as their conversation. Pretty? Her? Please. She hadn't been pretty since the day she matured into a full-grown dog. She had the head of some bull-fighter, and the body of a feline... A very wrinkly feline. Her laugh finally stopped, fading into an awkward silence before she spoke once again, Impress me.
Her eyes glittered once again, enjoying this game she was playing with him. He was persistant, and obviously not giving in just yet. Neither was she. But she did give him a full length sentance, as encouragement for continuation in their play, You're already amusing.

Well well, Fell managed to get the female dog to laugh! Though, he had a feeling it was more aimed at mocking than finding his flattery as a compliment. It wasn’t like he was trying to win the female over though with it. He just wanted to get her to talk to him a little more. He really wasn’t interested in trying to find any sort of mate at the moment. Due to him being a hybrid, he wasn’t even sure if he could reproduce. Well, he knew it was possible, but he also knew there was a chance that it would backfire and not work. It was one of the biggest faults of being a hybrid.
Once more, his head tilted to the side slightly as she spoke. Impress her? Wow, what was she playing at? ”What, do you want me to roll over, play dead? Or maybe some other stupid trick?” It was hardly a question; it was more of a comment to make a point. Fell had pride, and he wasn’t about to start dancing around to try and impress some female just to get her to talk. That was ridiculous, and he flat out would not do it. There were other ways to impress though.
Amusing, huh? How the hell was he amusing her? Maybe because he just wouldn’t give in. Apparantly she was enjoying this though, because she wasn’t either. Oh well, it wasn’t like he had anything else to do at the moment. They both had time to kill. ”Well, I’m glad I could be of some amusement to you.” It sounded like sarcasm, but it really wasn’t. Fell enjoyed helping others out, even if it was just by making their day a little bit better. It would be different though, if she was getting enjoyment out of him making a fool out of himself. He wasn’t though, not yet at least, because he wasn’t doing anything stupid. No, he was just being flat out annoying by not leaving her be.

At his harsher words, sarcasm practically dripping with his tone, the shar-pei stood. Her fur bristled, eyes narrowing into horizontal slits of black. Her ears became nearly invisible on her skull as she glared at him. Hackles rose, curled tail rising. Her stance was completely aggressive and she snapped a few growls and barks at him. Quickly though, she relaxed, smile melting onto her maw.
She laughed again, this sound was not mechanic as her firsts however. It was authentic, smooth, and somewhat warm. She walked closer to the other pet, smile not fading as she spoke, I'm Dahlia.
She made a side-swiping motion with her head in a slight dog-curtsy. His defiant words and refusal to stoop to the level of so many others, did in fact impress her. Any male that could control his horomones was worth recognition. Even if he were possibly sterile, she'd seen fixed dogs that humped everything in sight. She pawed at the ground subconsciously, keeping him in her dark eyes. They held a somewhat warmer glow to them this time, giving the pup a younger, glowing appearance.

Fell’s dark eyes narrowed as the female suddenly rose, her posture becoming completely aggressive. Just because she was a girl, didn’t mean he would stand down and take her attitude, though. If she even tried to attack him, he’d be up in a flash. For the moment though, he remained calm. He really didn’t think she would attack, but if she moved any closer he’d have to re-think that. Fell wasn’t afraid of a fight, especially because of how large and fluffy he was. It’d be easy to get a mouthful of fur if a dog bit him in the right spot.
Then, she had a mood swing once again, and completely relaxed. Typical female, really. Fell remained silent as she moved closer, his muscles bunching as he prepared to leap to his feet if she tried some sort of sneak attack. She didn’t, though, instead he got an introduction. It was completely unexpected, and completely out of the blue. His dark brows furrowed as he shot the female a confused look.
Had he won the female over by his persistence? Apparently he had, because she seemed to have a whole different air to her now. Slowly he lifted himself from the sidewalk, standing up fully. His fluffy tail began to sway right and left in a friendly manner. ”I’m Fell.” The brute finally spoke, a sort of smile curled onto his lips. ”It’s nice to meet you..and of course, the pleasure is all mine.” Fell could be charming, when he wanted to be at least. Though, once again, none of his charm or flattery meant anything. Fell had accepted the fact that he probably couldn’t breed, even though he was completely in-tact, and thus had learned to control his hormones as best as possible.

The shar-pei bitch took a step forward, eying the other dog carefully. He seemed only slightly baffled at her strange, mood-swinging attitude. Her boredom transformed into such personality abnormalities at times, something that her owner did not particularly fancy and neither did other dogs. It seemed the Dahlia had no positive efforts going in her direction.
Back to this... Hybrid. She never was one for long-haired males, finding them always too scruffy for her tastes. She always couldn't help but wonder what hid in those long locks of hair... She shivered here, shaking it out of her head and focusing on one of the male's positive aspects... He had spectacular facial markings, and he was stubborn. Dahlia had decided long ago that she would only breed with a select few types of dogs, another shar-pei being one of them. This adding to the reason she remained inside most of her days, things became of bitches who roamed.
Pleasure was all his? Here she chuckled lightly, Indeed it is. His flattery was once again false, and she wondered vaguely why he even bothered. It was obvious that neither of them had any love interests in the other, they barely held the material for being acquaintances. His words were somewhat empty and she then took this moment to question him, Why the desolate flattery, Fell?

Fell kept his eyes locked on the female, he still wasn’t sure if he could really trust her. For the moment, he would continue to keep his guard up. That was until he found out a good enough reason to drop it, and trust her. Her personality kept him on edge because of how fast it kept swinging around. Maybe she did it on purpose to throw dogs off, or maybe it was just the way she was. Fell wasn’t quite sure at the moment.
The smile on his lips didn’t leave as she chuckled at his comment. Well, if anything, at least he could make her laugh. That was a good thing, right? Oh well shoot, it seemed that Dahlia had seen through his empty charm and flattery. Though, it wasn’t completely fake or empty. Fell had used it to try and get the female to talk, and well, it had pretty well worked. Slowly, he sat himself down on the sidewalk and tilted his head. How to answer that question..hm?
”Well..I was just using it to get on your better side, and be friendly.” Fell allowed a small laugh to escape his lips. ”I’m not looking for anything more than a friendship, and obviously neither are you. My charm and flattery is just another way showing how nice I can be. There is no hidden lust behind my words.” Fell spoke nothing but the truth, too. ”If you haven’t figured it out, I’m a hybrid, a mix of a wolf and a german shepherd. So, I’ve pretty much given up the hopes of ever mating, because I’m not even sure if I can. I’m not fixed, though, just to clear that one up..” Fell went quiet at that point, feeling as though he had thoroughly explained himself.
