Dahlia was gently shooed outside by Melanie as the human began stirring up some instant tea and coating bagels with a white, sweet substance. However, today was the day that the shar-pei did not resent being placed in the outdoors, for today she had visitors of her own. Every so often Melanie invited over a few of her friends from the neighborhood for tea and a snack, and they all brought their dogs. Dahlia was not a friendly dog, she was not a kind dog, and she was not a caring dog. She had yet to find a dog she trusted, and only trusted one person. She did, however, talk to the two small furry dogs that came over with their owners to engage in conversation about human things with Melanie... It was how Dahlia kept up with the world and its gossip, even if she had to hold her tongue to keep from snapping at the two smaller creatures.
The wrinkly mess lay her head between her paws as she waited for the humans and their pets to arrive. She didn’t exactly look forward to their meetings, but she did itch to spread some harmful rumors about a few particular enemies of her’s. Her master placed a bowl full of raw meat, rice, and dog food mixed together on the porch and Dahlia began eating as she waited. Her mind wandered as she did so.
The first thing she thought of was that Doberman named Junius she had met only a few days before. She had no interest in the brute in particular, that is until she had left and he’d found a clever connection with her name. Dahlia’s master was a crime fanatic, as most humans seemed to be, and they watched a show about a prostitute on the bright box with life inside it. The woman had been killed, her face split into a Chelsea smile, and was dismembered as well as drained of life sustaining blood. This woman’s nickname was “Black Dahlia”, which was the reason thinking of the dog calling her that made her shiver. He was capable, she knew. Dahlia was also the name of a beautiful specimen of flower, mind you. She couldn’t help but want to wiggle into the mind of this beast and figure him out.
He’d intrigued her, and now she wouldn’t stop until she discovered his dark secrets and all of those different personalities he beheld. A small, bemused twinkle shone in her dark eyes and she watched various people and dogs approaching up the streets.
She also would need to chat about how she was barely scolded for nearly degloving her master's mate's hand, and how she'd tricked the attack dog into nearly finishing the job for her. Her master did not believe that her "beloved snookums" had bitten him, and demanded to know why Dahlia looked so sad and why he had muzzled her.
She laughed at this particular thought, and knew the smaller dogs would have a neighborhood story for her to think on. My would she have something to talk about at the end of today, and hopefully her dreams would be plagued with something besides that handsome, dark demon of her thoughts.

The girl was sitting outside Dahlia's fence, staring whistfully at the house that she seemed to guard. She groomed herself, and now Thalia was looking like a house pet without the collar. Other than that though, you could hardly tell she was a stray, other than that look in her eyes as she watched the house. Her reddish black muzzle, as she looked over it, only obscured the view. Those eyes, the blue and green eyes of her, seemed extremely sad as she stared. As they should be. She wanted a home, a house to live in and food on the table, not having to look over her shoulder.
Thalia looked at the Shar Pei and padded over near where she lay. Well, as close as she could get without going out of the fence. There was a gap though, and she sniffed around it. The female lifted her head again and stared at the house, then spoke softly. If Dalia was listening, perhaps she would hear. "Some day I'll have a home with people. I won't get kicked anymore, or ripped up by dogs that're meanies. Mabye she'll let me in the backyard."
Her head ducked as she banished the thought. "No. She's a house pet. I'm a...stray. A worthless stray...but I'd like to be able to go in the yard." She raised her head hopefully, then stuck her muzzle in the thing. In the hole.
Her tail flickered side to side as the scruffy coonhound looking dog backed away, sighed, and flopped down, watching Dahlia enviously.

Long time no see, Dahlia. The puff of fur that had been tossed outside by her owner trotted over toward the bigger female. She side-stepped her out of caution, knowing they weren't friends but still not enemies. So how have things been going for you? The Pomeranian, Reciao to be exact, had been brought over several times. The first time didn't go so well, as her owner was being stupid and left her prized possession in some dogs backyard that was much bigger than herself and more than capable of determining whether she'd see tomorrow or not. Remembering that first day, Reciao couldn't help but chuckle. Stiffling it quickly, she settled herself by Dahlia. As she settled herself, she was prepared to speak. As soon as her jaws opened, however, she drank in a new scent. I believe, she paused, pushing her tin body into a sitting position. That you have a new visitor. Reciao trotted toward the fence, searching out the new comer. Oh, Dahlia. I'm hurt that you didn't inform me about your new friend. Reciao snickered wildly as she stoped her sniffing along the fenceline. Flicking her tail to the spot, she turned back to the dog. I found, you scare off.

Stella fastened Honey's pink leash to her 10 karat diamond studded collar. Honey hated leashes. They constricted her from going as fast as she wanted to go, and as far. Honeysuckle-Rose walked out of the front door with Stella and began their journey. They were on their way to Dahlia's house. See, every Wednesday morning the owners took their dogs to Melanie's house for tea and bagels. Of course, the dogs just gossiped about people. And Honeysuckle definitely had some juicy gossip to spread this time.
She had some on the neighbors house dog and the stray that came along their road every now and then, the cats at the Harper's house, the Simms dog. Lots more. She loved to gossip with the dogs, but she didn't think Dahlia particularly liked her. She had a sort of rough exterior. It was hard to get to know her. As they approached the house of Melanie and Dahlia, Honey saw that Reciao was already there, and there was a stray sitting outside the fence looking in on them.
Stella got to the door, and knocked. She was greeted by Melanie who they kissed each other's cheek. It was more of a tradition in United Kingdom or some place. Honey had saw it on TV one day. Reciao, darling, how are you? Dahlia, dear, got any hot gossip today? She hoped they had.

FAELE
Jackie was grooming her prize five houses away. Faele, the Bully Kutta, waited paitently as she did so. After all, Kaitlyn was sick, so only Jackie was going over to Melanie's home. Faele didn't care about what Dahlia thought of her, and her tail wagged as her master reached for the door. "ready, Faele?" Her head swung back towards Jackie, and flicked her over. The girl was rather attractive, having done her hair. She wanted to make an impression on the women, no doubt.
The collar with the single emerald on it was clipped on, the muzzle too. Since the incident where Faele had almost killed a man, she now had to wear a muzzle out on the street. It had been a rape, and well, Faele doubted it would happen again. Jackie then clipped the leash on and opened the door.
Instant transformation. Faele's tail raised, head high, and she kept to the heel position. The sun's beat warmed her black coat, absorbing it thusly. Her muzzle jerked to the side and Faele checked the street. A man walked by, eyes flicking over Jackie, and he gave a small whistle. Instantly, Faele growled. Jackie yanked the leash, cutting the growl halfway through, and he walked away quickly.
Arriving at the door to Melanie's, Jackie unclipped the leash, and muzzle. She didn't even need to say a thing. The Bully Kutta held a rigid sit as the door opened. "Oh, Jackie! Is your mother still sick?" Jackie nodded. "Yes, ma'am." Melanie, or whatever her name was, patted Faele's head. "This is Faele?" And the chatting continued as Faele was let into the backyard.
"Ah! Dahlia, how's it been! And Reciao, nice collar, as usual. Honey, I hope you have some sweet gossip. Usually do. Me, I got a little bit."
She spoke as she walked to the fence, getting ready to investigate this new dog.
"Jackie's dating, you know. She lost her virginity two nights ago, and Kaitlyn and Lars have no idea." She dipped her head, and Faele sniffed the stray before padding back to the others. "Anyhow, turns out she isn't on the pill! Oh dearie me, this could end badly."

Dahlia smiled slightly, never a truly friendly gesture, as the two fluffy dogs and their owners walked inside. Reciao was the first to arrive, and greeted Dahlia with an indifferent tone of speech, her pretty, fox-colored hair glinting in the sunlight. I've been... Exceptional. She said, the positive word sounding strange on her tongue. At the mention of a trespasser, the shar-pei growled, raising herself up and jogging to the area of fence where the stray was trying to enter. In a fury of growls and clashes, she attacked the area of fence; snapping wildly at the dog's maw who was sticking through. Back off, scum! She snapped at the stray, hanging her large paws over the top of the fence’s prongs and snarling. As quickly as it had happened, Melanie exited and yelled to her, “Dahlia! Leave that poor thing alone or I’ll muzzle you!” Dahila’s mouth immediately shut, for gossiping behind a muzzle was difficult. Her eyes narrowed, glinting with a murderous intent, Come on in, darling . Join the party.
She flung herself away from the fence and stalked back to the porch angrily, but she would allow the stray passage into the yard in order to please her master, perhaps she would gain something out of his. Karma... It was important, and Dahlia did few good deeds. Her face flickered to a smile once again as another furry dog entered, this one white, and immediately began yapping. She had a studded color, and those weren’t rhinestones. I have a bit, Honey. Let us wait for Faele to get here.
Almost as soon as those words left her mouth, the bully kutta dog entered the yard and was unmuzzled. Despite the dog’s rough exterior she was always kind to the other dogs here, unlike Dahlia who could barely tolerate anyone. She cocked at head at Faele’s comment on her owner and said, She’s a bit young to have pups.
She lay down, allowing the thoughts of earlier to swarm her again. That glimmer entered her eyes again and she only hoped they didn’t see it before she shook them away.
((Lynch, combine your dogs’ play into one post so we can keep in order more easily =]...))

T.H.A.L.I.A
Reddish tinted fur gleamed in an odd manner, her head lowered as Reciao's comment scored deep inside her soul. It was probably something not expected by the Pomeranian, and when nobody was looking she raised her lip. Just a little bit before she looked down again. Once more the dog looked up, sighting another female. This one seemed much more Mild-mannered than Reciao. She didn't even seem to take offence to the stray.
Thalia, however, was suddenly attacked. Blood sprayed from the end of her nose; the attack of the shar-pei had brought a small chunk off. When Dahlia snarled, and the sounds of the human reached her ears, Tally fully expected some monster to come leaping at her. Her tail fell, and she stammered "I...I didn't..." Before Dahlia's invite hit her ears.
Thalia looked up, possible hope had showed itself. Granted, it did lay with her savageness, but suddenly Thalia decided to hell with it and heaved herself forward. She almost got on top of the fence but fell, second time she made it. She padded into the yard, half expecting to be mauled by that hellion. No attack came, and her stance became somewhat more confident.
And then Faele entered the yard.
