It's Bella
The Canaan sniffed solemnly as she lay in the shade of her favorite tree. Her dark eyes were distant as she stared out across the long backyard, directly at the gorgeous white fence her family had worked for days to put up. Her white head rested delicately on her paws, pink tongue shooting out to lap at one of her toes, brushing off some invisible dirt that apparently had her paranoid. These days, everything was making her paranoid. Why? Today, it had been worse. She had unmistakably heard the call of Darhtyn. Thinking of his name made her wince. She knew that call of old, one that he had never actually used. Tonight, a Gathering was to be held. Bella smiled at this, remembering her first Gathering as a tiny puppy, all fuzzy and white, and even then sitting with a band of bad boys surrounding her and whispering in her ear. Chuckling, the beautiful Canaan flipped over on her side, wriggling around as she itched her pack. Then the young femme bounced to her paws and trotted to the far end of the back yard, where there were more plants and trees. There was a perfect spot in the corner, where the fence posts didn't quite make it close together, where she loved to stick her muzzle out and watch the cars go by. Or, if she was lucky, she might watch a stray from across the road. After several minutes of waiting and watching, Bella grew insanely bored, and sat down on her haunches with he tail wrapped around her paws. Throwing up her head, she let out a lonely howl. Good thing her owners were not here, or they'd come out like madmans, wondering what was wrong.
