A melody of clicks, pants, and swishes signaled the early morning jog of the middle-aged cop and his faithful companion. The two began their ritual by jogging the length of the wealthy street, and then back down to their small condo. As usual, the officer stopped at a particular house, that of his mistress, and left his dog in the yard until the two had breakfast and... well... did whatever humans do. The black German Shepherd waited loyally at the door, that was, until it shut. Then he sprang into the yard, bouncing like a pup. The fence wasn’t so high, and he cleared it without a single though. Landing with a grunt, he began pacing up the street. Let’s see the finer things in life! He exclaimed, laughing to himself. Each new set of fencing and new patch of lawn meant another pretty, rich thing to look at. Kavok was an admirer of all beautiful bitches, above or below him on the social rung. He stopped here and there, not seeing anything to interest him much, sending an occasional wink or suggestive growl. He’d heard there were two shepherds like himself living on this street, and he would pleasure in finding them.
Rounding the block, he turned to see a particular house that had a larger dog door and assumed perhaps something more up to par lived there. His nose moved magnetically to the fence, waiting for the owner of the scents he retrieved to emerge. Kavok must look strange, roaming the streets like a loose stray, but perfectly groomed, and wearing a K-9 vest that glimmered blue and white. He woofed gently before lying down to bask in the sun, panting.
Ah, life was good.

A large moving truck roared around the corner, breaking in front of the house Kavok had stopped to inspect. It idled, then the engine shut off as the driver stepped out of the massive vehicle. Sounds could be heard from inside the house, and a well-to-do looking woman with long black hair walked swiftly out to meet the driver, accompanied as always by Twilight at her side. The man faltered, and the white femme’s hackles rose slightly. A sharp glare from the woman, Twilights human, relaxed the female though. Sitting down on the warm grass, Twilight watched the strange men invade her house, bringing in boxes. She eyed all of the characters carefully, watching, making sure her human was getting good treatment as she gave orders to the men with boxes. Although watching the movers was interesting work, Twilight caught a canine scent and decided to inspect that out first. With her nose to the ground, Twilight diligently sought out the new smell. As she trotted along, her sharp eyes caught a dark patch in the green lawn. The female raised her muzzle from the ground to stare at the other canine in wary surprise.

Kavok remained sprawled out on the sidewalk even after the truck pulled up, sputtering and causing a crazy amount of noise. He heard the footsteps of hard shoes, the pitter-patter of canid feet, and the grunts of men doing manual labor. Still, he did not open his eyes until the feminine scent stirred in his nostrils. He quickly flipped over onto his side, and found him self eye-to-eye with a stark white German Shepherd.
She was staring at him with an odd type of surprise, and he smiled at her with so much charm it was nearly disgusting. His eyes glittered with a youthful radiance as he said, Well, hello there.
He hurriedly got on his paws, stretching lightly and shaking the dust out of his dark coat and off of his slick vest. His tail made slow pendulum sways from side to side in a monotonous motion as he waited for the pretty lady's reply.

As the male shifted, and stood, Twilight watched him tensely. She relaxed quickly though at his friendly tone. Taking a closer look at the strange male, she noticed he was of the same breed as she, yet opposite in color. For a few moments she peered at him curiously, then realized that she hadn’t said anything back to him. Oh, hello. The femme paused, not knowing what else to say. With a quick glance to her human, she returned her attention to the awaiting male. My human and I just moved here. That’s her, gave a quick nod to the woman, over there. Twilight sat down on her new yard, still studying the male. A small, friendly smile came to the females lips as she wondered if she had a neighbor.

Kavok smiled at her, now noticing the men who were packing boxes of various sizes into the house. The white female's master was giving directions as to where to place the boxes and what to be careful with. The woman had a strong aura, but her dog's had a somewhat unsure vibe. He looked at her curiously.
My name's Kavok. He said offhandedly, tail wagging and smile unfading, I don't live on this street, my human and I live in a condo some ways away. We start our mornings with a nice jog out here.
He could still see the house where his master had entered, and he watched for him to exit. He guessed he'd be in there for a good amount of time, which gave Kavok a time to roam and socialize with the canines of Hawthorne Road.

Twilight listened with interest. Well, she may not have met a new neighbor, but ah well. No matter. My name is Twilight. She said, a small smile still on her mouth. She found his exuberant attitude amusing, she would look forward to meeting the male again. Her snowy tail thumped on the ground in a wag. She felt slightly self-conscious as he watched her, but she mentally shook off the feeling. How long have you lived around here? Twilight asked curiously. She wouldn’t mind having a guide to show her around. Not that she wouldn’t be able to find her way around, but it would save herself time if she had one. The females body posture relaxed as she talked. She was very wary of strangers, humans and dogs alike.

Kavok stretched, purposefully showing off every inch of his body that wasn't hidden by his work vest. His incisors were clearly shown as he grinned at the white bitch. He noticed her relax around him, and it made the black male happy. His tail began to swish even more and he answered her question quickly.
As long as I can remember! He laughed. My master and I are partners. I've lived with him since I was seven weeks old.
His voice was bubbly, happy and perfectly puppy like. He pulled his neck back, holding his head erect, and curled his tail to meet his back. It was obvious this dog had no problems when it came to self-esteem. He found himself very desireable, and wouldn't hesitate to be cocky.
((ooc: sorry its so short =[..))

Twilight nodded, and in that action erased the bigger smile that was forming at his antics. The femme was in a fairly good mood today, otherwise his showing off would have annoyed her. Though he was a very interesting male, Twilight was getting weary of sitting there. She was anxious to explore this new town, or it would be her playground. The snowy female stood up, shaking her long sleek coat. Well, since you have lived here a long time, care to show me around? Twilight asked, and her ears flicked back to catch sounds of her human still trotting around the place. Most likely Lilly, her human, would be busy a while, and wouldn't miss Twilight for a short while.

Kavok's tail began a steady wag once again and he made his way over to the female, standing directly at her side. Why of course, my lady. Where do you want to go? Today, Harlow is yours! He barked his last statement loudly, laughing and moving from paw-to-paw.
This movement was not only out of excitement, but nerves. He couldn't help but feel a disappointed vibe from the female and that was something the young shepherd hated more than anything. A disapproving female. But none the less, he would try and charm her claws off best he could. He walked out into the street, watching on both sides for cars, and noticing his master still hadn't emerged from the house. He turned himself back to look at her, smiling again, waiting for her to direct him.

With his eager to please attitude, it made Twilight feel increasingly more comfortable with Kavok. Even when he moved closer to her, at his side, she didn’t feel as much pressure to move away. Still, Twilight shifted ever so slightly though, out of habit more than necessity. The femme looked over at him, smiled, then looked around. Well, is there much to see in this town? Twilight asked as she began trotting down the street. Her long, slim legs kept her at an even, meandering gait as the pair made there way off, away from her new house. She cast one last glance back at her human before she got too far. A passer-by would have been impressed by the sight of the two shepherds trotting by. Black and white, opposites of the same breed. What a sight.
