Millie opened her eyed, blinking at the bright sunlight. She looked around, not yet getting up. She was in the house, on the couch. And, oddly enough, the house was silent. She stood up, her paws sinking into the soft material white material that made up the couch. Jumping down, she stretched, still waking up.
Once she had finished, she went on to groom herself. She had always been taught that if you were dirty, you weren’t worth anything. She licked her paw, swiping it over her ear. Her ears pricked up, detecting a soft noise. She looked up, paw midway to her mouth. Perhaps it was her humans! Her stump of a tail began to wag, thumping on the carpeted floor.
Standing up, she walked out of the living room, entering the dining room. Sniffing around, her nails clicked on the wood. She checked everywhere, but found no sign of the humans. She proceeded to the dining room, where the lights were off. ‘Odd’ She thought to herself. ‘The lights are always on.’
Beginning to get nervous, she ran back through the dining room and up the stairs, where the human’s bedrooms were located. Checking all the rooms, she still found nothing. Where were they? Perhaps, they were outside, sipping drinks and conversing. She ran back down the stairs, nearly tripping on one of the youngsters toys.
Pelting through her dog door and into the back yard, her eyes drooped. She had expected them to be here, so why weren’t they. Looking through a gap in the fence, she noticed the human’s car was gone. She sat down, whimpering. Her humans had seemingly vanished, but why?

[color= King trotted in through his doggie door, yawning widely. He had just woken up to find himself quite hungry, and figured he might as well get something to eat. He looked around, tail wagging, expecting to see his humans. However, when he didn’t, he tilted his great white head slightly, before shrugging it off and padding into the kitchen. When he saw his food bowl empty, it still didn’t faze him. He had long ago learned how to open the fridge.
Pushing his weight against the door, he managed to somehow pull it open. His tail wagged harder, pleased with himself, but when he looked into the fridge, his wagging abruptly stopped. It was empty, except for a glass bottle of something red. He growled slightly; mad at the fridge for being empty. He gave a short bark, trying to tell his humans that he was awake and hungry.
He waited a few minutes, giving the humans time to come to his beckon. When they didn’t, he got up, walking into the living room. They weren’t there either. After searching the whole house and finding nothing, he went back outside, out of the yard, and onto the streets. He let out a mournful howl, as if to say “Come Home.” They has vanished, possibly into thin air.
