Today was a day any dog could appreciate. The sun was shining and the weather was amazing, a great day to spend outside. Boris lay in his front yard watching the world pass. He wasn’t as young as he once was; he wasn’t able to bounce around like the younger dogs. Most days (like today for example) he just sat in the yard and watched everything, thinking about the things that where going on. For an odd reason he got great pleasure out of this.
But today something was different. All the pets where inside, the strays where nowhere to be found, and the people where off doing whatever it is people do during the day. Boris began to feel bored and lonely. Just as he was about to get up and go inside for some food someone came walking up the driveway to his house. Boris had never seen this person before never the less their dog. It must be a friend of my master he thought lying back down, feeling less like eating now that there were visitors. He hoped that this dog would want to talk to him, but why would she? She was young and probably wanted to play and run, both of which he could not do.
