The wildflowers were Forgotten's favorite place to relax. He enjoyed studying the wildflowers for his training, as he hoped to be a healer at some point. He loved to relax in these fields and roll around in the beautiful flowers. Forgotten wanted to relax today, maybe find another playmate and run around a little. His goal wasn't focused on finding a cure for something or messing with the wildflowers to find the best taste and the one that mashed easiest, the crunchy and the ones for sore throats. No, today, Forgotten wanted to relax.
Forgotten pranced around the field, he was alone, but he was used to being alone. He had spent the majority of his life alone. He bounded across the wildflowers chasing after any bugs he could find, there weren't a lot of bugs during leafbare, but he tried to find them so he could bound after them.

Featherleaf hobbled through the fields, the frost in the air collecting on her long black and white fur. Her still sharp nose picked up the scent of her apprentice long before her fading vision picked him out among the frost-bitten blossoms. It was true, the healer had seen better days. At such an old age, the former housepet needed an apprentice, and this young male's memory of herbs was almost like a sign from StarClan. He was destined to be MeadowClan's next healer, this Featherleaf felt as deeply as she felt StarClan in her dreams.
"Hey! You, whatever your name is! Stop flapping about in that field! We need to collect some catmint before the frost sets in," she barked, her voice aged and rough. "After that, we need to take you to Moongem Cavern so StarClan can accept you as my apprentice," at this, her voice took on a more dreamy tone, as if she was still mystified by the prospect of meeting with StarClan at the Moongem Cavern.

Forgotten had been lost in thoughts as he pranced around the field. There were so many scents out here. The fresh scents of catmint, used to help with greencough. Lavender, to help with fever. He not only recognized most of the scents out here, but he had studied to know what they cured or what they couldn't cure as well. Forgotten was what the twolegs would call, a scientist. He was always looking for new cures for the more deadly diseases.
He would have hardly noticed the healer's presence if it had not been for the unmistakable raspy voice of hers. He instantly stopped where he was and turned to look at her. Forgotten did not want to be caught misbehaving so bad. He needed to earn respect from Featherleaf so he could become her apprentice. It was his life goal next to having a family to become the healer of the Meadow Clan.
"Yes ma'am." He said as he paced to follow her. He lifted his nose in the air. Searching for the catmint he had found earlier. It was to the east of where he was, he did not know how well the old healer's nose was, but he knew her eye sight had gone out a bit so he started to take the lead but waited for her approval first. He faced the way of the catmint. Forgotten was excited to be going to StarClan today, he had heard of their great powers they represented.
Forgotten was curious though, of what Featherleaf thought of his approval. "Featherleaf, ma'am, do you think StarClan will find me worthy of taking your position after you retire?" He hoped the elderly healer would find him a good apprentice, but he wanted her opinion of himself as well before he got too proud of himself.

The border collie padded toward her apprentice, head held high as she tried to spot some catmint stalks, but her eyesight was failing, so she allowed Forgotten to lead her toward the precious plant. She knew where it was of course, she could smell it, but she had to let the younger dog take charge once in a while so he would gain confidence. He would surely need it some day.
As the padded over to the plants, Featherleaf's ears twitched at the apprentice's nervous question. It was natural to be anxious before a first meeting with StarClan, and she old healer knew that. She turned to the younger canine, her old clouded eyes meeting with his for a moment before she spoke.
"We can never know what StarClan intends for our lives before it is revealed," At this, she looked up at the sky, where the sun was beginning to fade. She knew the half-moon would soon rise above the treeline. "Luckily, you don't have to wait much longer, you impatient little flea-bag," she said, her tone rough but her eyes sparkling with mischief. "You'll drive me crazy with all of these questions. Come on, pick some of that catmint and we'll take it back to camp. Then I want you to eat some fresh-kill before we leave for Moongem Cavern."
ooc // after your next post, we can just start again in moongem cavern.

Forgotten started pulling out some catmint slowly. She made sure to get all of it her teeth had been worn down so that she didnt not tear the plant from the roots, but pulled it and the roots out all together. While he was pulling out the roots he felt anxiety building up in his body. People had told him to be calm when he met with StarClan, the more relaxed u were the better. But he wouldn't meet them for a few more hours and his muscles were already tense.
I sure do hope they'll like me. I will have to show them respect and hope they will find my life goal to be to serve them and help out my Clan and other Clans as well. The chow mix was trying to have good thoughts before going to meeting the StarClan for the first time. He wanted them to know how devoted he was to his Clan and to dog kind all together.
It had been a long time since Forgotten had had some fresh-kill. He was excited he was going to get some, usually he was one of the later people to get the meat and hardly ever was it still fresh. "I am kind of excited for going to see the StarClan. I sure do hope they will like me!" He felt like hoping around in excitement but knew he had to stay with Featherleaf out of respect.
