Stars of searing teal bolted into Sol's head when she felt the impact slam her to the ground. The sarcasim had rolled off her tongue, but the Shar Pei took it seriously. Sol let out a yelp of pain and surprise as the Shar Pei latched ahold of her and shoved her body into the concrete, the left side of her face smashing into the pavement, her head being crushed into the ground. A sharp flow of blood gushed from her right ear as the tear seered with excruciating pain. It had been split and blood oozed as it was trapped in Dahlia's prying jaws. Solstice felt the searing pain stab into her muzzle, bite marks swelling with teardrops of blood, and she yelped again her vocals releasing the piercing sound, wriggling under the weight of the regal Shar Pei. She was petite and had a small structure, but she wasn't weak. Sol felt the massive weight upon her, but she was more cunning than most dogs. Most dogs would try to fight back, but Solstice was a Drifter; this wasn't even her problem. Also, being a half-pint Aussie, she was dwarfed to the Pei. She knew she had to relinquish this battle.
Solstice slipped out from under Dahlia's paws, and exposed her teeth to the other female Doberman who had shouted taunts to her before the dog slammed her body into the ground. The wild light of fight glowed extremely dark in Sol's eyes, but faded as relization. Her terror ebbed to cunning, she needed to get away from here. Solstice tensed up and snarled, ready to flee. But she felt another presence. After trying to help solve the situation, Solstice got more involved in this pyschotic game of live or die. Sol had no backup or anyone to defend her. She hoped Arsenic would help, but the other male kept him preoccupied. Solstice snarled at Dahlia. But instead of meeting the challenge, Sol flighted.
Fleet feet pounding on the pavement, Solstice ran to the closet alleyway. She could not win this battle, and knew to never hope of doing so. She had chosen to run. She would return to the woods where she had left, her bravery had lead her to this. Wind buffeted her fur as she fleed, scarlet blood splattering the concrete and leaving a trail of rubies. She felt light-headed and dizzy. She wanted to be at CreekSide with the homes and houses, with Drum talking to her....She wanted his kindness and friendship. She had had no friends, and he was her only one. She would go back to find his scent, and find him.
She wished the best for Arsenic.
Arsenic looked at Loki. He eyed him with crystalline blue eyes filled to the brim with hatred blazing in the night sky. He was ready to leap, when suddenly a massive weight fell from the heavens and slammed into his body. His head spun with stars and eyes, and when he caught his focus he could feel Junius's jaws around his neck. Arsenic felt his airways become restricted and Arsenic tried to push himself up with his paws, but the weight of the other Doberman constricted his movement. He locked spectrals with Junius, blue and black meeting in conjoined combat. The intent was etched deep in both brutes' eyes. To kill each other or defeat the other one. Arsenic knew this brute was the villa fighter, whipping the shit out of all the dogs who opposed him. Arsenic had ring-side experience and he killed outside before. He knew they were equally matched. He would defeat Junius, or Junius would defeat him. Or they would both die with jaws locked on to each other. He had Arsenic belly up, teeth in his throat.
Arsenic twisted his massive cavity to postion himself to strike Junius across the face, aiming for left optical and the side of his face. He got a good grip on the concrete with his hind legs, and if his body was free, his strike would slacken the grip the other Doberman had on his neck. He felt the jaws clamp, and he stared up at Junius. His voice was a raspy venom as his lips moved,"Born in light, trapped in darkness. Heart of black, soul of Hell. Sworn enemies are Brothers too." But despite his words, this fellow dog of his would either die or kill. Arsenic twisted his neck around, hoping to release the pressure on his cords. He felt an eerie light-headness creep over him, but he would not go out.
His mind brought him to another place for a half-second. His mind raced with past battles. Deep in the core of his brain, the neurons pulsed and he was taken back to that day. Lightning had crackled in the black sky, igniting light in the darkness. It was his second fight, and the men had not fed or comforted him. He wounds were bleeding and raw on his seal gray pelt. He was shoved in a barbed wired fence and the pit bull was mauling him. He was belly up and the dog had caught his throat with those powerful jaws. He felt the pressure clamp and he was blacking out. But before the darkness struck, Arsenic had shift and his teeth struck the side of the Pit's face and he flinched as blood dripped into his eyes, and he let the grip slacken, enough for Arsenic to stand, and fight. He had fought with the Pit, and had triumph, but he was half dead. The humans had fixed him up, but the brawl as bad...Arsenic stared at Junius with a demandingly questioned glare.
