Bleary silver eyes opened as the sound of the snapping food can reached his ears. Rolling over, the male nearly fell off of the loveseat - he had forgotten that his female friend was here. He blushed, looking down at her sleeping figure and remembering their wild night. Easing himself carefully off the loveseat, he began moving quietly in the direction of the kitchen, finding himself quite hungry, when he was met by the form of Davin dressed in his typical work wear - dark blue jeans and that fancy, white, collared shirt with his name printed neatly on the right side of his bosom.
"Morning, Resputin," he said, smiling and reaching down to pet his boy. "Breakfast for two's in the kitchen, make sure that you only eat one," he added, shaking his finger suspiciously and rising back up to move towards Camsey.
"Hey, girl," he said sweetly, stroking her head gently and most certainly awakening her. "It's morning. I'm going to work now, there's food for you in the kitchen. You make sure you tell me if Repsutin - " He froze in his words, something catching his eye on the leather sofa. Resputin watched him, worried, as his master peered down at a small wet patch upon the loveseat. Moving closer, Resputin looked as well, and felt his heart sink. His milky white bodily fluids. He looked up at Davin, who blinked stupidly and turned to stare at Resputin.
Resputin flopped one of his ears to one side, grinning up at his master with his great pink tongue lolling out.
"That's.. wow, Resputin," grumbled Davin. "We'll deal with this later.. if she's pregnant, boy, I swear to god. She'll be out, and the pups too. This new job doesn't pay me as much as the old one. I couldn't afford a litter of pups." And with that, he strode from the room, down the hallway, and out of the front door. Embarrassed at his master's hard-to-distinguish anger, Resputin departed the room, head and tail low as he moved into the kitchen, which was primarily cherry cabinets, cherry floors, and marble counters. He moved to his bowl, where the expensive wet dogfood hung, lazily suspended, in that delicious grazy. Not to mention the sprinkling of scrambled eggs on top, leftovers of the man's breakfast. Resputin glanced at the spare bowl that Camsey would eat out of - she had exactly the same thing as he did. He began quickly wolfing his breakfast down, eager to go herding today, if she still wanted to.

Though she felt something leave her in the early-morning hours she simply moved a bit and curled up in a tighter ball next to the armrest, as she got resituated she let out a happy sigh before being awoken by a gruff stroke to the head. Her split eyes opened sullenly, not honestly remembering the night either. Yet as she was greeted by the man’s friendly voice and face she put on a better face and smiled happily before lapping at his extended hand.
Abruptly the human’s eyes ripped from her own and looked else where, she too glanced over only to see a puddle thanks to their night’s big adventures. She giggled softly as he scolded Resputin in a semi-nice way, hell had that happened on her couch her master would have smacked her silly then put her on a chain in the backyard. Good thing her owner was nicer than her own.
Soon after the tall male rushed out of the door leaving them in a semi-awkward silence. Scooting over a tad she sniffed the puddle and sneezed before walking out into the kitchen. “Morning Resputin.” She called in a singsong way, clicking over to him and nuzzling his neck affectionately. She was sure not to get too close to his dish in case he was a bit food aggressive, but finally found her own dish. Remembering yesterday she recalled not having any breakfast or anything thanks to her master’s forgetfulness of where the old rickety farmer forgot to put that cheap dry kibble into her metal dish. Though this stuff looked good she glanced over to him; it was all too fancy and expensive looking. Sighing her eager body gobbled up the food in what she believed to be the quickest rate ever for her own petite body.
Surprisingly the Aussie finished her food before the black brute and let off a loud sigh as she flipped onto her back soaking up the cold wood flooring before silently recalling last night’s happenings. As she remembered she leaned up and surveyed herself before cleaning up a bit and lying back down to watch him finish gobbling up his food.
Camsey grunted and frolicked over to his other side and landed a slobbery lick from his maw to his fore head, her rump shaking excitedly. “So I get to show you how to herd today right?” She asked aching for a yes; for this would be extremely fun; she hadn’t herded with any dog in over three weeks! Her owner usually just called on her to do the herding yet one day he gave Camsey and this other Aussie male who was ruder than a bull to round up his cattle before he loaded them up into a big truck to sell them hoping to get enough money for a new house, not to mention the profit from his dogs, sheep, goats, horses, and ranch in total gave him more than enough for a new home.

"Good morning, Cams," he said brightly, looking up from his food to watch her enter. She ate particularly fast, but he was under the impression that she was unaccustomed to eating meals of this kind.
Finishing breakfast, he turned to look at her, recalling the things that they had done. She didn't seem to regret it, so why should he? With a bright grin and a wag of his tail, he nodded at her question. "I've always wanted to try it," he said, gesturing that she should follow him as he led the way out of the lavishly furnished kitchen and into the hallway. Nudging the dog door open, he slipped out of it, into the backyard, and stood waiting upon the steps. "You should lead the way," he called. "I still don't quite know my way around here yet." He moved a little farther away, lowering his muzzle and rubbing it in the grass to get the bit of lingering moisture from inside of her off. After he had done this, he turned back to watch the stairs expectantly, mind lingering upon their relationship. What precisely was their relationship, now? After what had happened last night, he felt that they were more than friends, but they certainly weren't mates, were they? They hadn't even done that, not really, so.. there wasn't precisely a word to describe them, was there?

A bit sore she loped out after him, yet stopped once more to lick herself before exiting the wonderful home of which he lived in, “I hope he won’t be too mad.” Camsey said softly speaking about his master. She gently glided down the steps in her own serene beauty and grace. One visible on how fluid her every move was. She gazed out towards the rising sun and inhaled the thick dewy scent that still covered the earth like a wool blanket, constricting and almost humid like.
Of course the innocent female didn’t regret anything that happened between her and Resputin, they were doggy dating now right? Or did he think of them merely as friends? That would be terrible on her part; doing something so crude with a male only to have him turn around and do the same thing to a different female. Her face slowly slunk into a small frown as she pondered this, but put on a fake happy-face, ready to teach some herding.
”Come on!” She giggled loping around where they came into his yard and gracefully hopping the fence without even hitting a hair on it. She slowed once she got to the other side; and kept walking expecting him to follow the entire way as they followed his road to Creekside Way; then down a dirt road and up a hill until they reached a large farm. It’s fields lush and completely bare as the cows had yet to be let out from their morning milking. “Hurry we have to count.” She said softly; running swiftly through the deep grass and hoping the wooden fence before slinking into the grass awaiting the arrival of the cows.

Resputin followed behind her, taking in the scenery as he walked, not to mention the occasional glance at the beautiful female leading him. As they reached the farm, he followed her over the fence and into the lush grass, slinking down as she did, so that only the tips of his pinned ears and his tall shoulder blades were visible.
"What do you mean, 'count'?" he asked in a whisper, uncertain as to whether speaking with a loud voice would upset the cows when they were released or not. He flicked his tail, coming to a halt beside her as they crouched here in this tall grass. The black dog pricked his ears, eager to begin these lessons, and ruffled his fur. It may be in his blood to herd, but he had utterly no idea how to do such a thing, or at least, how to do it correctly. His father had been a fancy show dog - his mother had lived in that dirt hole with the fat man all of her life. Neither of them, he believed, had ever had a true herding experience. Taviun had probably never encountered such a thing either. To them, even himself, the name "sheepdog" meant that some distant ancestor had herded sheep for farmers, but no recent one of any consequence.
Resputin was ready to break that tradition of not knowing his proud breed's purpose. He exhaled, already becoming excited by the simple anticipation of awaiting the cows.

Camsey watched the brute follow her; oh he was just so mesmerizing! Call her crazy but she was starting to slip for this male. Though her mind wandered as she glanced from where Darius had been oh so suggestive with her, hopefully she wouldn’t run into him with Resputin here, and if she did he wouldn’t dare try anything with such a protective male looming over her shoulder.
Smiling she listened to his inquiry; “Well you count how many cows come into the field then keep counting them as they graze to make sure nothing got one.” She explained a soft giggle exiting her chops as she moved her maw a tad closer to his brow and licked happily. She couldn’t help but stare off in his wonderful hypnotic eyes in a complete daze. Was he hers or were they merely friends.
Finally flocks of cows were ushered into the field and silently the Aussie counted fifty-seven cows. “How many did you count?”
[/color] she questioned softly.

He nodded to her instructions. That was understandable, but he had to wonder what would be able to take down a cow here, in the midst of all the farmers and things. As the cows came flooding out, he began counting, nearly losing count as his silver eyes flickered across them quickly.
"Uh.. uh.. Fifty seven, I think," he whispered back. "Now what?" He turned to look at her. He knew that she had been staring at him a moment earlier. What had she been thinking about, he wondered? Looking back to the cows, he felt a sudden lust for blood that he hadn't truly felt since arriving here. It was almost more than he could handle, to not race to one and fell it with a clean bite to the jugular and reduce their number to fifty six. He blinked the thought away. That would be awful, to do that in front of her. He knew that a herding dog's business was not merely to herd their subjects, but also to protect them.
He took a nervous step forward, glancing back for Camsey. He was eager to have his first lesson get under way. His silver eyes remained trained upon the beautiful dog, and once again, his thoughts touched upon their relationship. Was she.. was she the equivalent, to him, of a human's girlfriend? Was that what Camsey had become, his girlfriend? That may be the incorrect terminology for it, but.. he knew that that was what Davin called it when he had a woman in his life.

Camsey’s eyes lit up in pure excitement as a few cows exited the tight bundle of cows grazing in the far corner, it was like a gift from heaven, now it was her and Resputin’s duty to push those wanderers back into that crowd. Smiling over to Resputin she leaned over a bit and gently nipped at his ear in an affectionate way.
Her lips pursed and she glanced over as he took a step towards the cows, a soft giggle interrupted him. “Follow me I’ll be running.” She whispered before laying a final lick upon the side of his face, “Now.” She yelped running from her hiding place and out into the open, she looped around the outside of all the cows, even the stragglers. As she did this she yipped and nipped at the cows not afraid of those hooves one bit.
Camsey’s trained mind worked over all the kinks in her plan, and looped towards one side of the stragglers, pushing them along the fence line and running them directly into the herd. There. With a soft satisfied huff she turned and walked to the grassy knoll, and plopped down atop it expecting that Resputin had followed her weaving body, and should be on his way up the hill. Her jaws parted as her tongue flicked out in an exhausted looking pant.

Resputin watched as Camsey leapt upwards, sprinting off towards the stragglers. He quickly jumped to his own paws, racing after her in mild confusion. He watched as nipped at the cows, pressing them back into the herd. Ah.. so that was their goal? He weaved towards one of these rogues, one that had, since Camsey's onward departure, removed itself once more. Giving it a hard nip along its ankles, the black sheepdog barked at it - the cow moved with a grunting sigh back among its peers. Awfully proud of himself, Resputin continued behind Camsey, if a little disappointed that she had handled all of them. Flying up the hill, he skidded to a halt in the dirt and fell over beside her, breathing great gasps of air from the adrenaline he had experienced on that first herding excursion.
"That.. that was fun," he breathed, looking at Camsey with adoring silver eyes. If it weren't for her.. he most certainly wouldn't have been chasing cattle around today. His tail beat the earth dully, over and over in the aftermath of his great excitement. Leaning towards his.. his girlfriend.. he planted a gentle lick on her cheek. "Is that it?" he asked her softly, pulling his head away to gaze quietly at her as his breathing slowed.

The sound of thundering hooves was heard from a short ways away and a shrill whinny was let out into the air, the calling of an equine. It was a mare and her foal of whom had escaped the farm known as Hennessy's Haven, a place that raised and bred horses. The mare was a painted one chestnut and white coloring, having one wall eye ( one blue eye ) and alongside her ran her foal of 4 weeks old. The foal was small in size compared to its mother, having long spindly legs, though it kept up with her easily.
The mare lowered her head with a snort as she lead her offspring through the feild, headed right for the two dogs of which had just gotten done herding. She gave a fierce neigh and lowered her head to snap in the direction of the two dogs as she passed, her foal keeping pace with her as they then galloped on past kicking up dirt and rocks from beneath their hooves. Where the mare was headed was for a treeline, the forest path, though why she was headed there was unknown. Her foal stayed at her side though, running with its mother as they then entered the forest's pine needle trail.
Shortly after the appearance of the mare and her foal, a flash of caramel burst past them and the form of a caramel and white pelted herding dog was seen as he bolted past Resputin and Camsey, his form running at full speed to catch up with the mare and her foal. " Summer's Lace! Come back here!" he cried as he continued to chase after the mare and her foal.
The forest, he knew, was very dangerous. For some of it had barbwire weaved within it as it told the owner where the border of their land and another farmer's land started and ended. If the mare wasn't careful, she or her foal might run into the strings of barbwire and get caught. Orion was running his fastest as he tried desperately to catch up with the mare and her foal so as to herd them away from danger. If any harm were to befall those horses he'd feel awful, his master having raised the mare from the time she herself was a foal. He had to catch up to them and fast, because the mare was headed straight for the border, her foal, not knowing any better, following right behind her.

Camsey giggled as he mentioned how it was fun; her diverse eyes awakened with much enthusiasm. She silently fondly returned that charming gaze with the innocence of her own. “Now we can wait for them to separate once more, and you can go yourself.” She stated with a wide grin, noticing he felt a bit sour, though that was simply his practice run and hopefully he picked up a few techniques of hers for when it was his turn. While he leaned towards her and planted that adoring lick upon her cheek she couldn’t help but get those rabid butterflies churning up in her now un-easy stomach. He had that way of making her feel so weightless, a way of her knowing that she indeed was crushing on this male.
“Resputin I-“ her question was interrupted by the rhythmic clopping of hooves on compacted grass. Her eyes flashed around them as the noise grew louder, lifting her neck to see the oncoming train, followed by a caboose. She jumped to her paws and lurched back as she snapped their way. Her eyes now alit with curiosity, she glanced around to see that caramel blur running fast behind the dynamic mother and son. Just then her eyes glanced down to Resputin, “Come on!” she giggled out, taking off in their visible dust cloud.
Her petite frame hustled down the trail, jumping over small barbwire tangles on the ground, and dodging cut down trunks. She expected Resputin to follow along for the chase, hoped, he followed after for the chase. Soon her eyes spotted the caramel dog and the baby foal’s whipping tail. A small plan forming in her mind, so she hurried beside the caramel dog running her fastest, “We should jump over the fences and intersect their path, then run them back.” She huffed loudly, her tongue hanging in the corner of her jowls. She barked the plan loud enough so if Resputin had been following along he could hear it loud and clear.

She what? Her question - or statement, whatever it had been - was cut off by the interruption of two galloping beasts. Resputin leapt to his feet, jumping out of their way, and watched in blank astonishment as a caramel dog flashed past, in hot pursuit. Hearing Camsey's words, he too took off, lean body working like a well-oiled machine as he flew after the escapees and the unknown dog. His ears pinned to his skull, tail raised high and flowed straight behind him as he pressed ahead, urging his flying body to work harder and catching up to Camsey.
Hearing her plans, he gave a small nod, shooting a silver glance in her direction before focusing on the horses ahead. Widening his gait, the male pushed ahead again, moving past Camsey and closer to the brown dog whom they followed. He hoped that he would be of some help - he seemed to be larger than the brown dog, if he was correct, and most certainly the larger the dog, the more attention they would demand from such a frenzied creature such as these horses?

The mare glanced back in the direction of the dog of which was pursuing her, giving out a snort and neigh as she continued to gallop on forward. The foal’s muscles rippled beneath its short coat, fluffy plume flowing behind it as it did its best to stay close to its mother. As the mare and her foal continued forward, there was a tangled bulge to be seen upon the forest floor. It was a tangle of barbwire fence that Riley’s workers hadn’t finished connecting to the rest of the fence since the herd had been locked in another pasture. Coiled yet sprawled out along the trail, the barbs glimmered in the light like daggers. The mare looked back to her foal with a snort then, whinnying to it to keep up.
Orion’s paws thundered upon the leaves and pines upon the forest floor, his eyes set upon the mare that was before him as she looked back at him. ”Summer’s Lace stop! There’s loose barbwire in here!” he pleaded as he continued to run after the pair. From behind him he could hear the thundering of other footsteps, but he didn’t care if they were following, for he thought it to be the other dogs. He glanced over his shoulder briefly as he saw the large onyx titan running alongside him, not saying anything for his attention then turned back to the mare.
Orion’s eyes then opened wide as he saw the tangle of barbwire upon the trail before them, stretched out along the way in a coiled thorn bush like mess. It was as if his worst nightmare was about to come true and he felt his heart race with adrenaline as he saw the mare and her foal continue onwards towards the mess. ”We’ve got to stop them before they get to that mess of barbwire up there!” he called to the other dogs as they, too, ran with him.
His eyes looked to the foal, knowing that it was trying so hard to keep up with its mother. It was so young, but it tried valiantly to stay at its mothers side and not get separated. As his gaze looked farther ahead towards the barbwire he could sense that the mare would jump it. Yes, that’s what Summer’s Lace loved to do. She was a show Jumper and a tangle such as that wouldn’t stop her from moving forward. The foal, however, was too young to be doing such jumps and he feared for its precious and young life. ”Summer’s Lace, don’t do it!” he called out to the mare, seeing that she now was eyeing up the new obstacle.
(( It's got fence that's to their left side, but there's now barbwire tangle sprawled out onto the path, which is what the horses are headed for. ))

The small femme continued to pump her legs quickly; so the large mare could easily jump that large tangle of razor sharp barb-wire, though her foal no matter how much like his mother he was; he just didn’t have the power to jump that entire ball of what looked to be yarn dressed with sharpened knives, pointed in every which way, one snag and you’d either be stuck there of have a hole in your body. Her eyes gleamed over the two males, they seemed to do nothing but run there. It would be too dangerous to step before a rushing mare; maybe she could gently nip the baby off its mother’s trail.
Without another thought the Aussie put her plan into action, quickening her pace and dashing behind the galloping mother, and squished between her and her foal, nipping at it’s front legs before getting in front of it. Though Camsey was always in danger of getting kicked by these massive animals. She slowed her pace forcing the foal to fall in step behind her.
Close to the galloping mother’s hooves she slowed further the foal coming to a stop, obviously confused. Camsey hurried and turned around, barking at the foal to get it to turn around. Gently she lurched forth getting in some nips at the foal’s chest and front legs as lanky as they were. Though she had gotten the foal to turn around the mare was still loose and on the run, which if she saw Camsey barking at her foal she could come barreling back, creating a great big chase all over again with Camsey being the run-away.

Resputin watched Camsey's endeavors with misted silver eyes. She had the foal on her case now - he supposed that he and the other male would have to deal with the mare. Unleashing a booming, powerful bark, the black sheepdog urged himself onward, quicker than he had been yet. He ran in the dust of the mare's gallop, worried that though she may be fully capable of jumping the barbwire, there may be something else up ahead that could harm her. The Belgian Sheepdog, though new at herding, had plenty of common sense. Running now at the mare side, he mimicked Camsey's actions with the foal as best he could, nipping fearlessly at the high, barrel chest of the horse. A fierce bellow on her end startling him; he leapt sideways to avoid her flailing hooves, falling behind in the chase.
A snarl escaped Resputin's muzzle. He would not be put down in such a way. Racing after her once more, he leapt at her willowy tail, snagging his fangs into the rough hair and grinding his hing paws into the earth. It felt as though his teeth would be ripped straight out, by the manner in which she dragged him so roughly. Having slowed her down, he looked to the caramel dog with pleading silver eyes - he needed to do something quickly, before Resputin's teeth parted ways with his mouth. The black dog's paws slipped and slid across the dirt, being pulled right along with the bucking, whinnying horse.
Yet, even through his panic, Resputin felt a twinge of regret that Camsey couldn't see his bold, brazen, maybe even stupid, act of bravery.
